Important news about the upcoming release of Lynda’s film "TERROR PEAK" on DVD that is for sale today from Arkless Entertainment. As previously advertised, the DVD set was to include a full interview with Lynda, as well as the feature “The Making of Terror Peak". However, through an error, the “Making of Terror Peak” was left off this first release, although the interview with Lynda is still on the DVD (Thank Hera!). I spoke with John Davies, the head of Arkless, and he said that is very sorry for the omission, but he did not know if it was to be added in the future. He apologized for the disappointment to Lynda’s many fans.

Well, if we, Lynda’s fans, manage to buy the entire DVD run, maybe the next set will include it. So lets’ do it, fans!

MORE NEWS ABOUT LYNDA'S LATEST MOVIE ROLES

More news about the latest big-screen movie roles for Lynda. In a November 2004 Australian magazine interview with Nathan Mico about her career and the soon to be released film "SKY HIGH", Lynda said “I play Principal Powers at a high school for the children of superheroes. She is very commanding and very strict but warm-hearted. And I have comet powers! I’m a comet, and that is how I travel !” Well, I always considered Lynda a heavenly body, and now she has become one!

She also mentioned in a recent television interview by Arch Campbell of WRC-TV that she will be going to Louisiana in January to start work on her role as Pauline, the girlfriend of Willie Nelson [Uncle Jesse] in the film "THE DUKES OF HAZZARD".

The release dates for "THE DUKES OF HAZZARD" is June 29, and August 2005 for "SKY HIGH".

GREEN LIGHT FOR BIG-SCREEN WONDER WOMAN

According to TV Guide Online and Ain’t It Cool News, Hollywood may be getting ready to greenlight a big-screen film of "WONDER WOMAN"! Joel Silver of Warner Brothers wants Joss Whedon of  “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fame to write and direct the movie adaptation. But who will star in the role that Lynda made famous and has not been filled, despite many attempts in the last 15 years? The same sources report that Whedon could turn to one of his femme fatales Sarah Michele Geller or Charisma Carpenter.

Personally, we think that they should go with someone who fits the bill of being a good actress yet to be well-known, who is beautiful with sky-blue eyes, a great figure and sense of humor about herself, which is the same thing that Lynda brought to the role of Princess Diana of Themyscira, aka Diana Prince!

Lynda attended a farewell luncheon for Alma Powell, wife of Secretary of State Colin Powell at the home of Rima Sabah, the wife of the Kuwaiti ambassador to celebrate the “return to private life as Mrs. Secretary of State” as one friend put it.

Wearing a light blue t-shirt under a black coat and pants, her lustrous dark hair pulled back in a pony tail, Lynda was among 100 women who came and brought children’s gifts for one of Powell’s favorite charities, Martha’s Table, while Powell was lauded by composer Marvin Hamlisch, who crooned a special musical tribute.

Lynda looked absolutely stunning in a black silk high-necked knee-length jacket embroidered with Chinese designs, her lustrous dark hair worn pulled back from her beautiful face, which was framed by her favorite emerald and diamond earrings.

The program was taped to be aired this week on CBS at 9:00 p.m. est December 22.

THE BOOMER COALITION

The “Boomer Coalition” that Lynda is a part of, which is trying to raise thousands of dollars to increase awareness about cardiovascular disease among baby boomers, held an on-line auction of hand-embellished Levi’s jeans that featured designs by Lynda, Bette Midler, Henry Winkler, Phil Collins, Chevy Chase, Andie McDowell, Rue McClanahan, Marilu Henner and more……and guess who’s personal-designed jeans were the top-seller in the auction? That’s right, Lynda’s “Wonder Woman” jeans went for $846, with Phil Collin’s jeans the second highest at $810.

Part activist and part educator, "Boomer Coalition” aims to stem the tide of unnecessary deaths that result from undiagnosed and untreated CVD by creating events that inspire and empower baby boomers to take the responsibility for their heart health. The non-profit organization has enlisted the help of well-known celebrities, musicians and teachers in the medical field to successfully raise awareness about CVD.

THE DUKES OF HAZZARD

Fantastic News!!! Principal photography for the remake of "THE DUKES OF HAZZARD", based on the hit TV series that ran from 1979-85, started in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on November 15th. Lynda will have a role in the Warner Brothers/Village Roadshow Picture movie. The film stars Johnny Knoxville, Seann William Scott and Jessica Simpson, Burt Reynolds and Willie Nelson, and was written by Jonathan Davis and directed by Jay Chandrasekhar, with revisions by John O’Brien and Broken Lizard. Jay and Broken Lizard were the makers of the hit film "SUPER TROOPERS" in which Lynda played the role of the Governor of Vermont in 2001.

The film is set in the present day, and follows the story of the adventures of “good old boy cousins” Bo [Seann William Scott] and Luke [Johnny Knoxville] Duke, who, with the help of their eye-catching cousin Daisy [Jessica Simpson] and moonshine running Uncle Jesse [Willie Nelson], try to save the family farm from being destroyed by Hazzard County’s corrupt commissioner Boss Hogg [Burt Reynolds]. Their efforts constantly find the “Duke Boys” eluding authorities in the “General Lee”, their famed 1969 orange Dodge Charger that keep them one step ahead of the dimwitted antics of the small southern town Sheriff Roscoe P. Coltrane [M.C. Gainey]. Lynda’s role is of that Uncle Jesse's girlfriend, according to some sources.

DINNER FOR THREE

Lynda and Robert were see dining at Washington DC restaurant Café Milano with Nicolas Cage and his new 20-year old bride Alice Kim. Nicolas is also the brother of Christopher Coppola, who directed Lynda in the recent horror film "BLOODHEAD" aka "THE CREATURE OF THE SUNNY SIDE-UP TRAILER PARK". Besides trading stories about his brother with Lynda, Nicolas has another thing in common with our favorite actress: both have recently starred in Walt Disney films. "SKY HIGH", which wrapped this month to be released next fall, features Lynda as the principal of a school for budding superheroes and their sidekicks, and Nicolas is starring in the action flick “National Treasure” which was partially shot in Washington DC and opens this Friday.

TROUBLE AT SKY HIGH

Trouble on the set of the Disney movie "SKY HIGH", in which Lynda has a role as the school principal of a high school for budding superheroes and side kicks!

It seems that actor Kurt Russell, who plays the main character “Commander Stronghold” has split with his girlfriend Goldie Hawn after a 21-year romance, and according to reports from the film set, Russell isn’t taking it well, being surly on the set and arguing with cast mates Lynda and Kelly Preston, who plays his on-screen wife “Josie Jetsteam”. One source tells “Kurt seemed totally out of control and, instead of letting up when he saw Kelly’s reaction, he just kept going until she finally burst into tears!”

Let’s hope that there is no delay in completing the picture! I am sure that Lynda will try to calm her actor friend down, so he can behave more professionally on the set, by telling him how well she carried herself when she was doing "DADDY" and "POSING" during those terrible days when her husband Robert was fighting for his professional name and reputation during the BCCI scandal!

TROUBLE AT SKY HIGH

Fan extraordinaire Terry Haney has launched another of his campaignS trying to get "PARTNERS IN CRIME" released on DVD:

"Hey folks---I am trying to get Lynda's "PARTNERS IN CRIME" series released on DVD.  I found out that Carson Productions owns the rights to the series.  I contacted them and was given the information below.  Please take a few minutes and let CP know that you would like to see this series released on DVD.  Don't forget to request bloopers and outtakes, commentary by Lynda Carter and Loni Anderson, photo galleries, and any other extras that come to mind.  If you have time, please e-mail, call, and send a letter, but at least make one of the contacts.

Just remember the "WONDER WOMAN" release started with a letter writing campaign as well.  In fact, it might be helpful to mention how successful the first season release of WW on DVD has been--so successful that Season 2 is on the way.

Good luck!! "                                                                                                                              - Terry Haney.

PRETTY IN PINK

"WONDER WOMAN" is going French! Pink, France’s first gay TV station, which next month will offer its viewers a heavy diet of English-language comedy and homosexual porn, has lassoed in a pop culture icon as it’s media mascot: "WONDER WOMAN"!

The scantily clad superhero, in the form of our beautiful Lynda when she was the star of the 1970’s US television series, will be seen everyday of the week on the channel PINK TV when it begins broadcasting on cable and satellite October 25th, executives told a press conference today.

Her lithe figure, tucked into the customary skin-tight stars-and-stripes costume, will be the figurehead of a wide-ranging programming mix of gay erotica, documentaries, interview shows and imported series that the fledgling station hopes will attract its niche “gay and gay-friendly” audience. Perhaps the wily French will invite Lynda over sometime to “gay Paree” for an interview!

WONDER WOMAN CONQUERS BUENOS AIRES

Wonder Woman does the tango in the streets of Buenos Aires.

Since September 27, Buenos Aires has been blitzed with huge street posters of Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman as part of a campaign by the Argentinean-based cable channel Retro. "The wish of watching her again was spinning in your head." So it reads the poster. Retro channel, is part of the Claxson Group and was originally known as Universo and then as Uniseries.

In Argentina, "WONDER WOMAN" premiered in 1977 in Channel 13, and it became the year's top ranked series, leaving behind "The Bionic Woman" and "Charlie's Angels". Ever since Lynda Carter and Wonder Woman has been a common reference in Argentina's popular culture.

The series is shown on Retro channel from Mondays thru Fridays at 8:00 P.M. Buenos Aires time, or 9.00 Mexico City time. For more information:

NOTE: On the top right you can see the street poster and on the left you can see the internet online ad for the "WONDER WOMAN" series. It reads: "When you have a wish spinning in your head for a long time, it finally fulfills. Wonder Woman comes back." On the other hand, and as part of the campaign the Retro channel featured so far, three different promo clips. The two first announcing the "coming soon" rerun of the series, and the third one, when the series already on the air. All promos will be featured for download on the next update.

LYNDA-SIGHTING IN LA!

There was a Lynda-sighting at Los Angeles airport today as a fellow fan realized that he was standing next to Lynda!! To quote fan ‘Mighty Joe Strong’ from the DC Comics WW Message Boards, “As I was waiting for my bags over in baggage claims here in L.A., I realized that I was standing next to Lynda.  She had been on my plane (from Dulles airport in Washington DC) the entire time! She was wearing a black pant suit, black shades, and had on big ole’earphones-the sound reducer type. She looked Great! Unfortunately , she booked it before I had a chance to gather my wits about me and say Hi! Wild, huh? What an awesome way to end the summer!!” Lucky fellow!!

Lynda was probably on her way to the Walt Disney Studios to start working on the film "SKY HIGH", in which she plays the principal of a very special school for superheroes!

THE LIFE AND TIMES OF WONDER WOMAN

For those of you who are theatre-goers, there is a play about "WONDER WOMAN" that is currently being performed as part of the New York International Fringe Festival called "THE LIFE AND TIMES OF WONDER WOMAN".  In cherry-red boots and killer bustier/hot pants outfit, British actress Tara Hendry does the vixen superheroine justice as she relates in bawdy braggadocio Wonder Woman’s mighty Amazonian heritage, her Mount Olympus romps and more earthly pursuits, including bedding "Superman" [although "Batman" was better, she assures the audience].

This multilayered, one-hour one-woman show written by Terry Newman and directed by Michael Eriera is reviewed by the NY Times as “an ingenious conceit, a way of talking about feminism, sexuality and society’s view of women, told through a cultural icon who went from comic book character in 1941 to hit TV star in the 1970’s played by Lynda Carter. Part history lesson, part feminist tract, all funny!”

The play ends 29 August, 2004. For more information go to:

Marvellous News!!!!! Army Archard’s column in "Variety” announced today that Lynda will co-star with Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston in Walt Disney’s upcoming film "SKY HIGH".    The film follows Jeremy and his trials and tribulations of being a regular teenager at high school and a possible future hero. Lynda’s role will be that of the school principal, and no doubt Lynda will be putting her personal “spin” on “transforming” for the many special students under her charge!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA!

Lynda turns 53 today, and what better birthday present for this still beautiful "wonder woman" than to celebrate the release earlier this month of a new top-selling DVD of the television series that she is most known for, and which made her career as a actress and philanthropist, "WONDER WOMAN - THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON" DVD!

Since her last birthday Lynda has had two successful big-screen motion pictures receive critical acclaim, "DOUBLE DARE" and "THE CREATURE OF THE SUNNY SIDE-UP TRAILER PARK" [AKA “Bloodhead”]. Lynda was among the estimated 800,000 women who marched on Washington DC Sunday to protest the Bush administration’s policies they felt encroached on abortion rights. Joined on stage by Senator Hilary Rodham Clinton, actresses Whoopi Goldberg, Cybil Sheppard and media mogul Ted Turner. Lynda, dressed in a yellow windbreaker over a pink top, wearing a white tennis visor, spoke out against the Republican President and Congress who are trying to dictate their outdated morals on women’s rights and said that she wouldn’t stand for mixing church and state, and that she’d escort the President back to Texas.

"There is a religious and moral superiority and arrogance that so many, not all, Republicans have. It is the ultimate intrusion by government to tell a woman when she can have children, if she has them at all,” Lynda said to the mass of cheering march supporters.

PENTAGON MEMORIAL FUND

Lynda has volunteered her time as a Washington DC community leader to support the campaign to raise financial support for the construction of a permanent memorial dedicated to those lost in the September 11th 2001 attack on the Pentagon. Her efforts as a member of the executive committee, as well as those of many others such as General Hugh Shelton, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, seek to raise $30 million for the project. Lynda was also one of those after the attack who volunteered her time to help the American Red Cross find relief for the many families who lost loved ones in the attack on America, and her efforts on their behalf will continue in this most worthy cause.

The official Pentagon Memorial Fund web site at www.pentagonmemorial.net will allow Americans from across the country to support this national memorial through a secure online donation system. The results will be a beautiful park located at the grounds of the attack that will provide a place for reflection, remembrance and renewal of life.

Please help Lynda Carter and many others to build this permanent memorial to America’s loss and enduring spirit!

With the help of over 70 stars from television and film, including a radiantly beautiful Lynda Carter, TV Land bestowed awards aplenty to some of television’s most celebrated series and stars during "The Second Annual TV Land Awards: A Celebration of Classic TV" at the Hollywood Palladium. The many awards were the result of a contest held on the TV Land website, where fans voted for their favorite category of show or role.

Brad Garrett of “Everybody Loves Raymond” was the host, and Lynda, seated at a table with Robert, was the first actress Brad paid tribute to that evening: “Lynda Carter, you’re so beautiful, I have to tell you she’s amazing. The first time when I was growing up and I saw the show and you spun around and you turned into 'Wonder Woman', I threw my back out!”

Later in the show, the award for ”Superest Super Hero” was announced by Chad Everett and Jane Seymour. The nominees were “The Incredible Hulk”, "WONDER WOMAN", and “Electra Woman and Dyna-Girl”.  When Lynda’s name was read by Jane as the winner, Chad gave a yell of delight and the audience roared their whole-hearted approval. Lynda, dressed in a beautiful maroon gown with a matching sheer wrap, her lustrous dark hair falling about her bare shoulders setting off her favorite diamond earrings, mounted the stage to accept the award. “Wow, I had a lot of competition…..Girl Power!” she said. “I want to thank TV Land first of all, and of course the fans….who voted for me! I was…I am very surprised, so thank you to the fans in particular. You know, “Wonder Woman” really changed my life; I played a super hero but in truth there are super heroes that are out there fighting fires and being policemen for us, and fighting in wars whether we agree with them or not! I’ve got the greatest guy in the world, we live in Washington DC now, and the two most interesting people that I know…..I thank them from the bottom of my heart for putting up as "WONDER WOMAN" as a mother, Jessica and James. Again, I’m really honored to be thought of in this way tonight, I thank you so much.” As Lynda finished her speech of acceptance and began to be escorted off the stage, an announcement came over the palladium that there was an invisible plane parked illegally on Sunset Boulevard! Lynda hurried offstage, put down the award, and twirled into……"WONDER WOMAN"! Although it was a younger actress who dressed in the famous star spangled red, white and blue outfit, Lynda was the True Wonder Woman this night!

Lynda and Robert were among some 50 couples invited to an intimate and romantic dinner to the former Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen’s exquisitely candlelit and rose-filled Georgetown mansion on Valentines Day evening. Lynda and Robert held hands, touched heads and sang together as a string sextet strolled through the room playing “It Had To Be You”, “Moon River” and other romantic favorites to the bipartisan crown that included National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan, and Former Senator John Glenn and his wife Annie.

No doubt Lynda also sang for Robert during an intimate minute her favorite song “Always” to her beloved husband of 20 years. May they forever remain together, “Always”.

THE CURSE OF BLOODHEAD

Director Christopher Coppola has decided to change the name of his horror film "BLOODHEAD" to "THE CURSE OF BLOODHEAD".

In his online “bloghead” at the film's website Coppola said that “it makes it sound more like a drive-in movie…(and) less of a horror or slasher film and more of a campy trailer park anti-racist fable that happens to have a monster and some bloodshed in it.”

A CHAT WITH BILL CUOMO

LyndaCarterFanExtraordinare Terry Haney has tracked down Bill Cuomo and asked him some questions about his work with Lynda on her PORTRAIT album project. Although this was Lynda’s only album, there are possibilities that she may return to the music scene and record and perform again after her children James and Jessica are older, which is in the not-too-distant future.

A&E BIOGRAPHY: LYNDA CARTER

The long awaited A&E BIOGRAPHY: LYNDA CARTER premiered tonight, to the delight of her many fans. This one was the best of all of the three shows that have been made, the Lifetime Channel’s INTIMATE PORTRAIT: LYNDA CARTER and the E! TV E! TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORY: LYNDA CARTER. There were new film clips that many had never seen before, such as Lynda turning over the Miss World USA Crown in 1973 to the next Miss World, and telling the audience how wonderful her experiences had been.

Lynda was also seen singing in a sound studio, then doing a promotion for her PORTRAIT album. There were behind-the-scenes clips of WONDER WOMAN showing Lynda’s stunt double, Jeannie Epper, as well as scenes from her appearences on the “Mike Douglas Show”, her five hit singing specials, BLOODHEAD, the latest film she has a role in, and her recent appearance on the hit comedy TV series HOPE & FAITH.

One reason why this show had some freshness was because WONDERLAND was asked by A&E what in his opinion should be used in Lynda’s biography. Happily they followed his ideas as to who to talk to and what to use, and to look for clips which had not been used before.

Roughly the first 40 minutes were about Lynda’s early life, how she got the role of WONDER WOMAN in 1975, her singing career and first marriage to Ron Samuels. The last 20 minutes talked about her life after WONDER WOMAN, including her other series, her successful TV movies, her charity work, and her happy second family. Besides the usual people talking about Lynda, like her husband Robert and brother Vincent, some new faces were seen, such as her beautiful niece Michaela and sister-in-law Georgia Carter, New York Post critic Michael Starr, and good friends Harry Sloan, Loni Anderson and Kenny Rogers. Lynda, looking beautiful in that black pantsuit with a pale blue sweater tied around her shoulders, (did she make the bio the same day she did “The View", “The Caroline Rhea Show” and “Larry King Weekend”?) was seen often in the bio, making some new comments that surprised many people, especially about the Miss World USA contest being all “tits & ass!”

While much was shown in those last 20 minutes, the most touching was the scene of Lynda’s beloved husband Robert’s acquittal of the trumped-up charges during the BCCI Scandal of the early 1990’s. Although other programs had run the same clip of the exact moment when the forewoman of the jury gave the verdict, the clips was always shown silent. This time, while the camera was on Robert, nervously awaiting the verdict, the voice of the judge was heard asking for the jury’s decision. When forewoman was heard to say “not guilty”, a gasping cry of  anguished true joy was heard from Lynda, off camera in the courtroom. That was truly the moment when their life began again, and has happily continued to this day. Well Done, A&E

A&E BIOGRAPHY: LYNDA CARTER

The Arts & Entertainment cable channel will premier their biography of Lynda a week from today at 8:00 pm e.s.t. on 14 January, 2004. WONDERLAND was contacted by A&E for help in making this the best biography ever about Lynda! Besides members of her family, among the guests talking about their friendship with Lynda will be Loni Anderson, who co-starred with her on the 1984 series PARTNERS IN CRIME and Kenny Rogers, who was Lynda’s guest star on her first television special.

The biography will be repeated at midnight on A&E, so her fans will get two chances to see their favorite Woman of Wonder twice in one evening.
