OBLIVION GAME NABS SPIKE TV TOP HONORS!

Bethesda Softworks’ latest popular video game "OBLIVION" won half of the awards nominated by the fourth annual Spike TV Video Game Show tonight, including “Game of the Year”, “Most Addictive Game”, “Best Performance by a Human Male-Patrick Stewart”, “Best Role-Playing Game” and “Best Original Score”. Although she was nominated, Lynda unfortunately did not win “Best Performing Female Performance”, which was won by Rachel Leigh Cook in “Kingdom Hearts II”. But Robert should be proud that the company that he is CEO of walked away with the night’s largest share of awards. Who knows where Bethesda Softworks will go next? And lets’ hope that Lynda has a role in that game, too!

The awards show will air on Spike TV on 13 December at 10:00pm. e.s.t.

Lynda and Robert joined more than 2,000 guests to pay tribute to the five recipients’s of the 29 Annual Kennedy Center Honors last night in Washington D.C. This year they were country-western singer Dolly Parton, Motown’s Smokey Robinson, musical theatre composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, conductor Zubin Mehta, and from Lynda’s home town of Phoenix, legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg.

Showing off her stunning figure in her bluish-purple silk low cut dress with gathered feathers at her shoulders, her dark chestnut hair piled high on her head with tendrils down over each temple to perfectly frame her beautiful face, Lynda and her husband greeted several old friends like Kenny Rogers, Leslie Moonves, neighbors Eunice and Sergeant Shriver and Jessica Simpson who were also there to honor their friends among the honoree’s. Lynda was seen on WJLA-TV’s coverage of the evening as saying “I think that the Kennedy Center Honors, certainly to be part of the audience, is such a..an…incredible experience!” It truly was a soaring, star-studded evening in the nation’s capitol.

CBS-TV will show the entire 2-hour program on 26 December.

Lynda attended a national Press Club luncheon today as a special guest of her friend, Joan Collins, who was there to speak about her latest book “The Art of Living Well: Looking Good, Feeling Great”, about how society unfairly stereotypes older people, plus Joan’s latest gig in Washington D.C, the play “Legends” in which Joan is starring with another friend of Lynda’s, Linda Evans, and last but not least, to meet Joan’s new husband (#5), Percy Gibson

Joan was quick to answer many extemporaneous questions from the luncheon group, but Lynda cut her off at the pass when she was asked what advice to give to Republicans following the recent election results. “Get out of town!” Lynda volunteered from the head table. Lynda then glanced at her place card which read "Linda Carter" and was heard to quip to press club members “It’s the National Press Club, you would think they could spell my name right!”

No doubt the whispers flew when the press club members saw "WONDER WOMAN"’s Diana Prince and “Dynasty’s” Alexis Colby Carrington talking animatedly together, but there were no catfight’s between these two women, no comparing the size of their padded shoulders, it was just two old friends getting together far from Hollywood where their career’s have taken them, to talk about the good times and the men in their lives.

Last night at the Ambassador Theatre in New York City our Lynda reprised her role as the keeper of the keys, the countess of the clink, the mistress of murderer’s row, Matron Mama Morton for the 10th Anniversary star-studded performance of the hit musical play "Chicago". Clad in a black lace bustier worn under a tailored man’s suit, her dark lustrous hair piled high on her head, Lynda performed the Mama part as she told the story of murderous “Go to Hell-Kitty”, the Hawaiian pineapple princess , and was joined by more than dozens of other actors who had played the various roles in the play during the past 10 years in the US and all over the world. Joel Gray, Bebe Nuewirth, Melanie Griffith, Brooke Shields, Marilu Henner  and many, many more knock’d ‘em dead as each took the stage for a number, a duet or a stampede as the many actors who played the slick, sleazy lawyer Billy Flynn flooded the stage!

But the razzle-dazzle extended past the final curtain. After the celebrity studded cast took their final bow, they headed “where the gin was cold and the piano hot” –  in this case, a gala after-party at New World Stages, where Robert joined his magnificent “Mama” and they danced the night away!

Most important was the fact that the theatrical marathon raised more than $1.2 million for Safe Horizon, a national organization that guides 350,000 victims a year through the criminal justice system.

Last night Lynda had a chance to honor her good friend, CBS Television’s Leslie Moonves, at the Museum of Television and Radio’s Annual Gala honoring Leslie and Jerry Bruckheimer at the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Looking stunning with her dark lustrous hair flowing over the shoulders of her Chinese kneelength silk embroidered jacket & black silk top & skirt, Lynda joined other such celebrities as Katie Couric, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, William Petersen, Gary Sinese, James Woods, Julia Louise-Dreyfuss and Melina Kanakaredes in paying tribute to the head of CBS. No doubt Lynda fondly remembered the days when Leslie and she were in the same acting class together in New York City. Imagine having Lynda as a partner in your acting class! What would have been your motivation?

LYNDA'S THIRD PUBLISHED RECORDING IS OUT!

The box set of 2 CD’s and one DVD celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the smash broadway play "Chicago" was available in music stores and on Amazon.com today.

Boasting the entire 1996 cast including Bebe Neuwirth and Ann Reinking on one CD, the other has our Lynda Carter and other stars who played the roles of Mama Morton, Roxie and Billy Flynn reprising their roles from their performances worldwide, such as Brooke Shields and Melanie Griffith as Roxie and Gwen Verdon as Velma and Jerry Orbach as Billy Flynn from the 1975 play, as well as 2 songs that were cut before the play opened on Broadway in 1975.

Lynda’s version of "When You’re Good To Mama" on disc two has some slight differences from her performance in London last fall, but she belts out the song in fine style. Her beautiful voice is heard for the third time officially and it’s first recording release since "Portrait" in 1978. The retail price for the boxed set is $34.95, and includes a 68 page booklet with publicity pictures of the many cast members, including Lynda.  The DVD features interviews with various people connected with the play, including composer John Kander, who explains how Mama Morton’s character was saved from becoming a small role with no songs to a larger role with two songs, and footage of international performances of the play from Holland, Italy, Brazil, Mexico & Russia!
