Diana Prince
[LYNDA CARTER] has just returned from the Philippines
and on her way to Arizona for a fishing trip when
Steve Trevor, Jr.
[LYLE WAGGONER] greets her at the airport with a newspaper headline:
"China, Mysterious Volcano Wreaks Havoc. Scientists
Baffled By Eruptions" and a new assignment to find an I.A.D.C.
agent who disappeared in Baja, California. When last heard from, agent
Dave Pruett
[JAMES PARRES] was registered in room
seven, Vista Bonita
Hotel, Baja. He was on assignment to locate
Professor Chapman
[RODDY McDOWALL]
a former Government physicist who has invented a machine that
creates volcanoes around the world. |

•
Diana Prince:
"Congratulations. I heard that Atkinson got
bumped upstairs... and you've been promoted. All my assignments come
from you from now on?". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"That's right. Sorry we don't have time for champagne. I'm here to give
you your assignment". |
|
•
Diana Prince:
"Come on, Steve. I just got from the Philippines.
I'm going fishing with some friends in Arizona". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"You're still going fishing. But I'm afraid not with friends". |
|
•
Diana Prince:
"Okay. Where do I fish, and what for?". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"See the headlines". |
|
•
Diana Prince:
"Chinese Volcano?". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"The Office of Scientific Research says it shouldn't happen. Any more
questions?". |
|
•
Diana Prince:
"Any more answers?". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"In exactly 37 minutes, get yourself some flight insurance at the gift
shop. Look, this is not piece of cake. Dave Pruett, the last agent we
sent there...". |
|
•
Diana Prince:
"Yes?". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"He hasn't been seen or heard from since he checked into Room 7 at the
Vista Bonita Hotel". |
|
•
Diana Prince:
"Thanks". |
|
•
Steve Trevor Jr.:
"Anytime". |
|
At the hotel, the desk clerk,
Jack Corbin [ROGER DAVIS]
registers Diana in room 7 as she requests. Alone in the room, she
starts searching for clues and finds nothing. In the meantime, Corbin
phones Chapman who orders him to get rid of Diana. Reluctantly,
he agrees. As Diana moves toward the bed, a trap door opens
beneath her and falls into the basement. She begins to hear the
sound of machinery in action and as her eyes become accustomed to the
dimness of the basement, she sees the walls closing in on her. There
are no windows or doors -no escape route. She moves to the center of
the basement and whirls into Wonder Woman. |
|
With superhuman strength, Wonder Woman positions herself so
that her feet press against one wall, her back against the other and
she hears the sound of machinery breaking up What was once a basement
is now a concrete hallway. While this is happening to Wonder Woman,
Chapman creates a volcano which he centers in Russia. As a result, two
Russian agents are dispatched immediately to Baja to destroy the
laboratory. |
|
Whirling back to Diana, she jumps into a dune buggy and starts
up the mountain road to Chapman's laboratory. At the end of the road,
two Chinese, Mei
Ling [IRENE
TSU] and
Lin Wan [RICHARD NARITA]
approaches the unarmed Diana and take her prisoner. They blame the USA for cau-sing the volcano in China. Diana convinces them
that this is not true -that she is looking for the last agent sent to
Baja to find Chapman. To her surprise, they believe her but leave
her bound as they start up the hill to Chapman's laboratory. |
|
The two Russian agents, also making their way up the mountain side,
surprise Mei Ling and Lin Wan and before a fight can start, Diana, who
has whirled into Wonder Woman, jumps between them. Using the golden
bracelets, she deflects the bullets and as the
Russian Kalanin
[MILT KOGAN]
charges at her, she simply knocks his arms away and pins his arms to his
side. The two Russians weaken and realize they can't win. They also
blame the Americans for having the terrible weapon of creating volcanos
and after convincing them that the United States has nothing to do with
it, Wonder Woman suggests they all work together to destroy the weapon
and the lab. |
|
Corbin and a group of men, are now circling the group to
take them prisoners. But Wonder Woman races back to the
spot where the Chinese left her and whirls back to Diana, just as she
hears the helicopter in the background. |
|
Corbin leads the two Chinese and Russians to an underground
cell and Diana is taken to Chapman. Many years have passed since they
last saw each other. He explains to her that he has control of the
world by using the most powerful laser beam powered by nuclear energy,
he can turn the entire planet into a volcano. That is his idea of
establishing peace. |
|
As Corbin is escorting Diana back to the cell, she darts away
from him and whirls into Wonder Woman. Soon after she breaks in into
Chapman's lab. |

•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"Wonder Woman! I am so glad you've come. As a matter
of fact I was hoping to have you here". |
|
•
Wonder Woman:
"So I could witness a third world disaster? And stand by for the next?". |
|
•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"But no, Wonder Woman. I am doing this in the name
of peace." |
|
•
Wonder Woman:
"The idea of peace is beautiful. But this is no way to accomplish it.
Why don't you ask the people whose lives depend on what their leaders
decide?". |
|
•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"As a matter of fact, I really don't have to ask
anyone. Corbin, tell her how we've suffered. Just tell her" |
|
•
Jack Corbin:
"I can't Arthur. I agree with her. It won't work. Not your way. We have
to work for peace, but not by intimidation" |
|
•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"Fools have said that since the beginning of time". |
|
•
Jack Corbin:
"Everybody is a fool to you. There will be fools who will send bombers
to be strong. And there will be fools who will give in to you. And they
will be seen as weaklings, or even traitors. But Arthur, the only real
fool is you". |
|
•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"And the Russians, what about them?". |
|
•
Tobirov:
"Our answers will be planes and submarines, missiles and tanks. Whatever
it takes to destroy you. we have always fought that way". |
|
•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"And the People's Republic of China?". |
|
•
Lin Wan:
"There are 800 million of us. If there are 10 percent left we will
still, eventually, dominate the world. It is called the 'long view'." |
|
•
Wonder Woman:
"Chapman, you have created the deadliest, the most dangerous weapon the
world has ever known... in the name of peace". |
|
•
Professor
Arthur Chapman:
"But you believe in peace, Wonder Woman. You always
have". |
|
•
Wonder Woman:
"Yes, but it won't work your way. I'm sure the world's leaders would
listen to you once there was no more threat". |
|
Chapman is almost convinced and ready to
deactivate the laser beam, but suddenly a message is delivered to him:
"Telephonic communication has begun between the heads of state in
Washington, Moscow and Peking." He now thinks that all the leaders won't
listen and activates the laser again in spite of what Wonder Woman and
Jack Corbin tell him... Wonder Woman only have ten minutes to get to the
middle of the mountain and deactivate the laser beam. |
|
Wonder Woman races to the center of the mountain where the nuclear power
plant is located and smashes through a concrete wall. Within minutes she
is atop a mountain ridge and runs directly toward the blazing white
laser beam, striking her right in the middle of her body where the
golden girdle encircles her waist. She has to hold it for 50 seconds and
then it won't be able to fire again. Bathed in light, she
holds her ground and the beam goes no further. She then completely
destroys the apparatus. |
|
|
|
Back in the laboratory, she convinces Chapman that making
certain parts of the world erupt is not going to bring peace. With the
help of Corbin, the Chinese and the Russians, who also plead the same
as Wonder Woman, Chapman is defeated. He and Corbin are taken into
custody. |
|
Days later, back on safe ground, Diana and the two Chinese, who
are now allies, decide to prepare the best homemade Mandarin dinner
-in honor of Wonder Woman. |
