On November 8th, 1999, Lynda Carter joined many of her fans on an online chat  sponsored by Lens Express. Lynda answered many questions to her fans from 5:00 P.M. thru 8:00 P.M. Lens Express promised a transcript of the chat, which now can be found on their site, but it was partially transcripted. Nevertheless below you'll find a FULL transcript of the chat where Lynda answered many questions to the administrators and collaborators of this site under the names "Sawnie", "Argie" and "Guest380", as well as other site's webmaster like Rob Olivera. ENJOY IT!
Lynda Carter I prefer the CBS version because I had a greater flexibility in the story line The ABC version was confined to WWII and I think they were running out of story lines.
Lynda Carter Perhaps Lens Express will post it and I will most likely be doing some publicity as well as sending a notice to my fan club members.
Adam Thanks, I’ve been trying to figure that out for years.
ROrtega   Hi Lynda, What project are you most proud of?
Gary Lynda, I just wanted to say that I think you provide a really positive role model, both in your portrayal of characters on TV (i.e. Diana Prince) and as a working mother.
ChrisH Lynda, what is the secret of your eternal youth!? Is it your diet as I read somewhere that you are a vegetarian? I could be wrong though!!!
Lynda Carter It usually seems to be the last project that I’ve worked on, because I don’t seem to dwell too much on past laurels. And life is too much fun for that!
Sawnie Hi Lynda! During years you talked a lot about being a new born Christian, what’s the role of religion in your life nowadays?
Lynda Carter Thank you Gary. I was lucky to have had Wonder Woman as my own role model and to have such a great public perception of that character. I think of my life as a work in progress.
Sashaa How old is your baby boy?
Sashaa How old is your son Lynda?
Lynda Carter Thank ChrisH. This chat is making my day. No I’m not vegetarian, although I try to restrict high fat foods, but I indulge occasionally and I found that having a good exercise program keep my mind and my spirit alive.
Lynda Carter I think of religion as a very personal thing and I have expanded my views to include acceptance of all people and their religions. I believe that spirituality is very different from religion and that love is the ultimate life experience.
Lynda Carter My baby boy, James is not such a baby anymore. We just measured him and he is now 5 ft 2in and he’s only 11 years old.
Sawnie From an artistic and quality point of view, which one do you think has been your best work so far?
Jon I recently heard some of album entitled “Portrait” and I noticed you helped write several of the songs… With all you are doing have you considered going back in the studio?
Lynda Carter Sawnie: I’m having a memory lapse on the title of the movie, but it was the one with the older woman, younger man scenario that aired in January. AHA – I remember now “Family Blessings” on CBS.
Sally How did you become affiliated with Lens Express?
Lynda Carter I continue to write songs and have stockpile some ideas for future recording, but right now the song remains in my own safe keeping.
Lynda Carter I was lucky enough to have been approached by Lens Express several years ago. It’s a great program and I’m sure you know, so great that people have tried to copy it! But you still get the best service quality and the most options through Lens Express. It’s a great company to work for.
LyndaFan What is the most dangerous stunt your performed on Wonder Woman besides the helicopter stunt?
Randy Any chance I can get an autograph picture?
LyndaFan Do you have any personal appearances scheduled where fans can meet you?
Lynda Carter Well, I almost got fired for doing a helicopter stunt! So they kept me on a short leash for a while. However none of my stunt doubles (and I had several) could do a fight sequence as well as I (as I say modestly). I think that doing the stunts were the most fun aspects of doing the show so I tried to get involved in as many as possible.
Lynda Carter Please send a self-stamped envelope (large enough for a 8 by 10 photo) to Lynda Carter Productions, P.O. Box 59615, Potomac, MD 20859-9615.
Sawnie Would you like your kids to follow your steps as an actor/actress?
Gary Do your children watch episodes of Wonder Woman? What do they think of “Mom” in that role?
Lynda Carter The truth is, I think that my children are proud of their mother, however celebrity can also be a pain in the neck for them. They have seen a few episodes but seem to be more interested on their own favorite TV programs. The best way I can impress my children is to get an autograph picture of N'SYNC! Both my daughter and my son are extremely talented and although my at-home craft skills are pathetic, we often enjoy shows and concert put on by the..
Sally How do you become a member of your fan club?
Lynda Carter Please write to the PO Box and your name will be added to our database. Thanks for asking!
Neal Who would you like to play the new WW?
Lynda Carter Catherine Zeta-Jones and I don’t know if any of you saw Cindy Crawford dressed as Wonder Woman, but she looked pretty great.
KevinGrady Are you aware of any episode guide books for Wonder Woman?  Have you granted interviews for any such effort?
Lynda Carter Someone asked me earlier about upcoming projects and the type of movies that I am interested in being a part of are things that have some altriustic value. Might as well getting something out of being a couch potato!
Artemisboy Is there any truth to the myth that there are un-aired episodes of Wonder Woman floating around?
Lynda Carter No, I'm not aware of any WW guidebooks. But I must say that I'm fascinated in the positive power that the archetype of that character has gained. It's a positive look at women from both the male and female perspective.
Lynda Carter It could be, but I am fairly convinced that they aired them all at least once. They are for sale through Columbia House Home Video.
Sally You were an inspiration to me to become whatever I wanted. Thanks.
Antonio if there was to be a new Wonder Woman movie or tv show, which would you prefer, that it was similar to the original or something completely different? (meaning different characters, diferent costume etc).
Lynda Carter It brings me so much personal satisfaction to know that I have been a positive influence on your life, Sally.
Lynda Carter I think that the costume should definitely remain the same or at least similar but I think there could be some fantastic creative adaptations to the Wonder Woman mystique.
catialeelove Do you ever keep in touch with any of the other stars from the Wonder Woman series?
Lynda Carter I run across Lyle Wagonner now and again and I've remain friends with many of the guest stars.
ChrisH Lynda, did you have any input on the design for the Wonder Woman costume, either the ABC or CBS version?
Lynda Carter The CBS version was far more flattering and I was much skinnier (you know how LA is) and they were both designed by Donfeld who was a brilliant costumer.
LYNDAFAN Have you considered creating a website featuring information on your career (past and present)?
Lynda Carter Yes absolutely, we are in the process right now of creating the most visually amazing website!  And I would love to have input from any of you on what you would like the content to include.
ChrisH I think Sally speaks for all of us here tonight. Quite simply you touched a generation with your portrayal of the Amazon Princess. And nobody will ever do it better!
Sawnie Do you regret sometimes the fact of being eternally related to “Wonder Woman”?
Lynda Carter That's so sweet, ChrisH. I often feel that Wonder Woman and the show itself is much bigger than me or anyone involved in the creation of the show. I think it came at a time where woman were needed something truly wonderful to strive for and the character that i played shared my secret with me and was really a frriend to all who watched her. What do you think?
Lynda Carter If I regretted that, I would have lead a miserable life! On the contrary she is who gave me my career and the longevity that I've enjoyed. What would be the point of regret?
WonderNoman what will the new website URL be?
LYNDAFAN A WEBSITE--YES!!!!  I would love for your new website to feature photos and information about all of your TV and movie roles.  I hope that there is also a listing of any current projects and airdates for them.  Also, like many of my fellow fans, I have an enormous collection of memorabilia that I have amassed since the mid-70's.  I think it would be great to feature information and letters from some of your fans.
Lynda Carter These are great ideas. And I would love to include scheduled online chats- yes?
Lynda Carter Right now it looks like someone has already taken www.lyndacarter.com and many other variations, but i will let you know when and where I'll be certainly through Lens Express website.
Neal-UK Have you checked out any of the WW web-sites available, what do you think of them?
Lynda Carter A couple of years ago, I browsed around and was amused at some of the misinformation and ancient pictures. All in all I was surprised at the interest in me and the show on the internet.
KevinGrady For website - It would be fun to read some behind the scenes stories/hijinks and have some candid photos from the WW set.
Lynda Carter I better get to work in reaching back into the memory banks! There were alot of really fun things and sad things that happened during those 5 years.
Dale I have lways wondered what happened to the music you were to make with George Benson? You had mentioned it on your Street Life special but alas..i never found anything.
Lynda Carter Like many things that fell through. Although I still see George Benson from time to time.
Artemisboy How did you feel when you received the Emmy for your television special?
Lynda Carter That special was truly a fantastic creative experience where I was able to trace my roots and my hispanic background and put it to music and dance. We were all enchanted with the Emmy.
LYNDAFAN I have contacted the Lifetime network several times requesting that you be featured on their Intimate Portrait series.  Have you ever been contacted by them, and would you be interested in such a profile of your life and career?
Lynda Carter I think that their Intimate Portraits series are wonderful. And I would be priviledged to be a part of one of their shows. Just waiting for an invitation!
Artemisboy What did you have to go through to prepare yourself to portray Rita Hayworth?
Lynda Carter I had to learn to tapdance, had to dye the front of my hair BRIGHT RED. I looked pretty funny on the weekends with this hunk of RED hair in the middle of my face. HA- pretty funny! I also had to develop with a lens company, the first colored contacts and they were Brown. You've heard of people going blue, but not people going brown and it was a very altered state. I think it really changed the look of my face (my face looked fatter!).
LYNDAFAN Could you give us some information about your association with the Susan G. Komen foundation?
Lynda Carter Over 10 years ago, I heard Nancy Brinker speak at a luncheon in Washington DC. I knew that this unpopular cause needed some attention. At that time, there was little or no funding for breast cancer research and through the Komen Foundation as well as many other great organizations, we have raised awareness and made incredible strides towards the eventual elimination of this disease. I'm passionate about this cause and very grateful to have been a par
Guest13 Do you still write and record music? If so, is it available?
Lynda Carter Yes, I still write music but I'm not doing any recording at this time. I really do miss performing live and the thrill of a live audience as well as a recording studio.
Ray Who had the greatest influence on your life?
Antonio I remember watching a Wonder Woman episode where you actually fight a guy martial arts style, did you eever studied martial arts?
Lynda Carter My mother was really in my corner. I started performing at a very young age and had no fear. My sister was my best friend and we would put on singing extravaganzas all the time.  My mother and my father were my biggest fans. It's my experience that for every successful person there has been a mentor, brother, sister, mother, father in their life cheering them on and being there believing in them when nobody else did.
Lynda Carter I believe very strongly that the secret to a happy life is giving. You know that wonderful feeling that you get when you've helped someone or given something to someone without any interest in thanks and repayment. That feeling inside is addictive and it really brings the ultimate happiness in life.
Lynda Carter Back to Wonder Woman! I did study with a blackbelt, I think he was a tak kwon doe teacher on the set. But truly he made me look good because I did not have the technique or background for anything except for faking it!
Wayne Do you have any keepsakes from the “WonderWoman” show? (e.g., costumes, etc.)
Lynda Carter Yes, I have the complete Wonder Woman costume including bracelets, the boots , the earrings, the tiara, the lasso of truth. I actually have several pairs of bracelets even from the ABC version. I'm saving them for my children.
Dale Do you have the cape too :-)
Lynda Carter I'm actually looking for the old Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman doll. Have you seen any?
Lynda Carter Sorry no cape!
Ray Yes, on ebay all the time there are Lynda as WW dolls.
Rob_Olivera I have one of you, Ms. Carter.
Whitelion84 that is where i have seen them
catialeelove try ebay...they have dolls all the time
Randy I have a copy of Portrait that I got when it came out will you do new one
IloveWonderWoman ebay has a ton of ww stuff!
Sawnie I'll send you a doll Lynda...
Whitelion84 The collecters warehouse in cleveland ohio carries the doll!
Lynda Carter Great! Thank you all for the info. You can send any other info to P.O. Box 59615, Potomac, MD 20859
IloveWonderWoman Linda, Where were you born?
Lynda Carter Wow! you guys are really up on all the latest and greatest! Thanks
Lynda Carter I was born in July in Phoenix, Arizona.
Joe Can we write to you at that address for penpals as well
Lynda Carter Yes of course. I'd be delighted to hear from you.
Joe Lynda, I just saw you recently in “work With Me”, do you want to go back to doing regular Television series
Lynda Carter I would do another tv series in a heartbeat if I could do it close to where I live. But I treasure my home life and my precious time with my children too much to spend the kind of time it would take, away from them.
Dale Is there any chance that you would record a Christmas album? you would be perfect for one!!
CarmenSD Do you think your kids might follow up in you footsteps?
Lynda Carter I think that's a great idea and one I'll keep in mind. We sing at home all the time. Ho,ho,ho!
Lynda Carter It's a difficult path, but one that has been extremely joyful for me. As long as they are diligent with their education and finish college or graduate school. I would support them in whatever they wanted to do. Both my daughter and my son are extremely talented and have a great love of the theatre and of music. They now both play an instrument and are learning to read and to write music.
WonderNoman Are there any truths to the rumors that you will have a candid appearance in the next STAR WARS movie?
Lynda Carter From your mouth to God's ears! I have not been approached as of yet, but you could suggest it to the Star Wars website!
Sawnie Is there a release date for “The Hunter”, the movie with Rutger Hauer? How was you role like?
Lynda Carter I'm sorry but I'm not in that movie.
IloveWonderWoman Lynda--who's your favorite basketball team?
Lynda Carter The Washington Wizards and any WNBA team.... girl power!
CarmenSD What has been the most precious moment in your life?
Lynda Carter The day my son was born and the day my daughter was born.
Ray What is your favorite TV show currently on the air?
Lynda Carter I'm still a big fan of NYPD Blues, the Practice and the new show, Judging Amy.
LYNDAFAN Do you play any musical instruments?  If so, do you read music or play by ear?
Lynda Carter I play the piano very badly. I read music and I do play by ear.
WonderNoman Who is YOUR favorite HERO/HERROINE?
Lynda Carter My daughter, Jessica. She's my favorite hero.
Guest435 What sort of acting training did you receive, if any, as a child?
Lynda Carter I participated in any and all local and school productions that I could find but my real acting training began in Los Angeles in the early 70's.
MarryMe Who is your favorite band and what sort of music do you like?
Lynda Carter I was a a recent concert at the White House put on by VH1...a charity thing,  I saw Lennie Kravitz, BB King, Eric Clapton, Melissa Etherthridge, Gloria Estefan, NSYNC, John Mellancamp and I enjoyed each and everyone. My taste in music has a very wide range. I appreciate classical, country, rock, jazz, blues, old and new rock n roll, opera. They all take me different places. It amazes me sometimes the tremendous talent that exists in this world.
LYNDAFAN Have you ever performed or would you consider perfoming on Broadway?
Lynda Carter I've performed all over the world in concert halls, casinos, stadiums. But I've never performed on Broadway . I suppose it is every performer's dream to be on Broadway. So yes, I'd love to do either a play or musical.
Rob_Olivera Which of your 4 CBS Lynda Carter specials was your favorite to film, Lynda?
Lynda Carter I did 5 specials and I really don't have a favorite. It was an innovative creative experience and we did interpretations of music in a theatrical way, kind of like a forerunner of what you now see on MTV. It was a little ahead of its time, but having complete creative control made it an exhilarating, fantastic journey.
Marty Probably been asked by now, but do you have any upcomming televison projects?
Lynda Carter Right now, only reruns. But I should be doing some new projects in the Spring.
Guest435 Do you have any political asperations?
Lynda Carter Only to vote!! The way they pull apart political people, I have no interest whatsoever. Being a victim of the tabloids is bad enough!
LYNDAFAN Did you attend college?  If so, where?
Lynda Carter I had scholarship opportunities to
ahww only very narrow people pay attention to tabloids anyway
WonderNoman True fans don't believe the tabloids Lynda! :)
Lynda Carter Oops, I had scholarship opportunites to attend ASU, but I opted instead to go on the road to seek my fame and fortune.
Ray What would have been your major?
Lynda Carter That is so refreshing to hear. Thank you. I know that many people don't realize that even though things can be untrue, it still hurts.
Lynda Carter My major most likely would have been in Business and Communications.
KevinGrady If you could work with any actor/actress, who would you choose?
Lynda Carter I would like to work with John Travolta, Mel Gibson, Emma Thompson, Kristen Scott Thomas, Sean Connery.
catialeelove do you have any pets?
Lynda Carter We have a menagerie and would have quite a few more if my daughter had her way. 3 dogs, 1 cat and a very large fishtank!
Randy Have you considered directing for TV?
Lynda Carter I really have no interest in directing at this particular time, however later when my children are older, that would be something I would like to do.
MarryMe Which are you most proud of your singing or your acting?
Lynda Carter I've been singing the longest, but I have continued to study and perfect my craft in acting. It's difficult to say, because I love them both.
LYNDAFAN I respect and admire your decision to work less and spend time with your family.  However, what are your long term career goals?
Lynda Carter I have approached my career in a way that I hope the audience grows older with me. So as I get older, the parts that I will accept are with woman of compatible age ranges. I've avoided staying with the glam images so often assoiated with me, instead I like to play real approachable woman. I plan to continue acting for as long as audiences want to see me.
KevinGrady Did you have much input into storylines or scenes on WW?  Were you free to offer suggestions?
Lynda Carter I was free to offer suggestions. Some were taken and some that were ignored.
Kentstate in your free time, and how little that must be, what are your hobbies?
Lynda Carter Is this the Rob Olivera that has a WW site?
Rob_Olivera Yes Lynda.. It is.  Nice to meet you online.
Lynda Carter Sports, sports, sports! Snowski, waterski, tennis, golf, hike, bike, swim, rollerblade, etc..... Whatever is fun and outside, I'm up for!
Lynda Carter Rob, how long have you had your site?
Rob_Olivera Since 1995 Ms. Carter.
ahww what was the funniest blooper that happened during the filming of WW
Lynda Carter Well, good luck. It's great to talk to you.
Lynda Carter The funniest blooper would be when in the middle of filming, Bubba Smith refused to be flipped by a girl!
Guest216 What is the internet address for Rob's website?
Rob_Olivera geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Studio/2997/
Ray What would be your ideal part to play?
Lynda Carter I'd really love to play just once a bad guy! It would be so much fun.
Drew Did you have a favorite WW guest-star?
Lynda Carter Yes, but I've just blocked his name. It will come to me in a minute!
Guest216 Were there ever any pilot films for WW that were never shown on TV?
Lynda Carter No, not that I know of.
Argie Say hello to your Argentinean fans! You have many fans in the Spanish speaking countries... Do you speak Spanish?
Lynda Carter No, but my mother is fluent. Hola to all of my Argentinean fans! My hispanic roots give me a special affection and tie to all Latinos. I'm very proud of my Hispanic heritage. My best childhood memories are from my mother's side of the family. The great music, the great food and the great conversation.
Paradise Lynda, could you possibly share with us a little about your capacity as miss world?
Lynda Carter I was Miss USA in the Miss World contest, therefore called Miss World USA. It was an eye-opening experience. While it opened a lot of doors, it also closed a lot of doors and tended to stereotype me. (HA, the story of my life). I had the opportunity to go to London for the Miss World contest and after it was over I stayed and got a record deal with BMI and started on the new path toward my ultimate goal.  All in all with the good and the bad, it was a
Neal-UK Please say hello to your UK fans!
Lynda Carter I love the UK! My family and I were just in London in June. It was the first time for my children and I was able to share many of my favorite places. My father's side of the family hails from the London area. So, hello and love to all my UK fans!
Alexandre Sorry, Lynda, but I' not sure you've got my question. That's why I'll ask again. What are your plans for your actress career? Do you intend to do a new TV series? Perhaps a sitcom. I read you did a cameo appeareance in CBS series “Work with Me”. Did you enjoy?
Lynda Carter Alexandre, my apologies. I plan on continuing to do a couple of tv movies a year until my family is a little older. Then I would consider doing a series, perhaps a sitcom because the hours are so great. Preferably I would like to shoot in close proximity to my home. And yes, I'd loved working with Nancy Travis and Kevin Pollack. It was a blast.
Argie You were announced to appear here in Argentina in a convention this week, but it was cancelled, what happened? Will we ever have the chance to meet you around here?
Lynda Carter If that was the Buenos Aires event, there was a scheduling conflict. Perhaps some other time. I've never been to Argentina, so I look forward to it.
ChrisH What was your favourite track from “Portrait”?
Lynda Carter Don't It Feel Like Paradise.... The Toto song
LYNDAFAN Who would you most like to sing a duet with?
Lynda Carter Eric Clapton!!
Hideaki Please say hi to Japanese fans. Have you ever been there?
Lynda Carter Yes, I have been to Japan.  I loved it! Hello to all my fans in Japan for all the wonderful support over the years.
Guest380 Hi Lynda, did you enjoy working on “Hawkeye” and with Lee Horsley (a great team!) MarkMeader
Lynda Carter Although it was a lot of hard work, it was wonderful!  Lee Horsley was very nice, and very cute.
Artemisboy Are you still an avid Horse Rider?
Lynda Carter Although I sold my horses many years ago, I still love to ride and my children have inherited my love of horses and also ride
Guest19 Hello from Sydney Australia Lynda!
Rob_Olivera Lynda.. I read you were hurt once on the set of Wonder Woman.  Would you please comment? :O)
Lynda Carter G'day! Australia! I'm dying to visit your country!  You have fabulous commercials, running here, in the USA promoting tourism!  I can't wait go!
Lynda Carter Actually, I had several bumps, bruises, and scrapes, over the years, but nothing too serious.  However, several of my stunt doubles were hurt, but then again too serious.
ahww Lynda, I have to leave soon, but I wanted to thank you for sharing this evening with us and for giving us such enjoyment through the years. Well wishes to your family and continued success in your career, and I look forward to the day that I might actually meet the one and only Wonder Woman.
Neal-UK HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!  GOD BLESS!
Argie Thanx for a “Wonderful Evening”... Tons of love!!!
MarryMe Yes, thank you so much!
LYNDAFAN I too would like to thank you for this time--it is priceless to all of your dedicated fans.  I also look forward to having this opportunity again, and I look forward to meeting you one day.  Best of luck in all aspects of your career and family life.
Deborah On behalf of Lens Express, thank you to all that have participated in the first online chat for Lynda Carter and Lens Express!

Lynda Carter This has been a unique and fascinating experience for me, and the last 1/2 hour my two children have been here with me sharing this great oppourtunity too meet all of you!
