PREMISE:

Television journalist, Patricia Traymore, moves to Washington to do an in-depth interview with vice presidential hopeful, Senator Abigail Winslow. She moves into a house where she lived as a child and where her father murdered her mother and attempted to kill her. She wants to face the past and with the help of a psychic neighbor, Lila Thatcher, find some answers about this tragic event. In the meantime, Senator Winslow has some secrets she is hiding.

Patricia Traymore, a young, talented reporter moves to Washington DC to produce a television series.  The subject of her first mini series is Senator Abigail Winslow, the first woman nominated to run for vice president of the United Sates.  As, Pat searches deeper into Abigail’s past, she discovers horrifying facts that threaten to destroy the reputation of Senator Winslow.  Some of those secrets involve Pat and what happened to her family years before.  But, someone is warning Pat not to carry on with this program.  This person will do whatever it takes to make sure that the program on Senator Winslow does not air.

Pat moved into the house that she lived in as a child, hoping to stir up memories of what happened years ago.  Her father and mother were both tragically shot and killed, the shooter unknown.  But Pat has flashbacks of that night.  She hopes that by living in the house, her memories will come back to her.  By uncovering these memories, Pat could ruin people’s lives, but someone is out to ensure that does not happen.

Pat also moves to Washington in search of a relationship with Sam Kingsley, a handsome older congressman who Pat had an affair with.  Sam doesn’t want to get involved with Pat, fearing that their ages are too far apart.  Can Pat do this story on the Senator without killing her reputation?  Or better yet, without killing herself?

PRESS RELEASE

"Stillwatch"

LYNDA CARTER AND ANGIE DICKINSON STAR IN "STILLWATCH," DRAMA OF SUSPENSE, ROMANCE, THE OCCULT AND POLITICAL POWER IN THE NATION'S CAPITAL, ON THE "CBS FRIDAY MOVIE".

Don Murray, Barry Primus, Louise Latham, Stuart Whitman, Walter Olkewicz and Bibi Osterwald Star in Motion Picture-For-Television Adapted From Mary Higgins Clark Best-Seller

Lynda Carter and Angie Dickinson star in STILLWATCH, a drama of suspense, romance and the occult tangled amid the power and politics of the nation's capital, to be rebroadcast

on the "CBS Friday Movie," Friday, Sept. 23 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network. (Originally broadcast 2/10/87.)

Don Murray, Barry Primus, Louise Latham, Stuart Whitman, Walter Olkewicz and Bibi Osterwald star in the motion picture-for-television adapted from the best-selling novel by Mary Higgins Clark.

Miss Carter portrays Patricia Traymore, a television news reporter whose assignment to produce a profile of Sen. Abigail Winslow (Miss Dickinson) plunges her into a dangerous, high-stakes mystery that may have terrifying consequences as it unravels.

Murray portrays Rep. Sam Kingsley, a prominent congressman who may have been involved romantically with both women, and who may hold the key to the mysteries that swirl about them. Primus plays Toby Wilson, Sen. Winslow's assistant, who harbors a dangerous secret.

Miss Latham plays Patricia Traymore's neighbor, Lila Thatcher, a woman who dabbles in the occult and whose dark memories hold further clues to the mystery. Whitman is Luther Pelham, a veteran network news anchorman and an important player in the intrigue. Olkewicz is Patricia's film editor, Sid Sherman, and Miss Osterwald is Margaret Langley, Abigail's former schoolteacher.

When Patricia arrives in Washington to begin her new job, she rents a house in Georgetown with a tragic past -- an important congressman and his wife had been shot to death there, and their daughter had been reported killed. Patricia soon begins to hear nocturnal noises in the house, as if someone is present.

As Patricia works on her profile of Sen. Winslow, events of Abigail's early life link her to the old house and the people how had owned it. Patricia also uncovers startling information about Abigail's assistant, Toby Wilson.

Soon, Patricia finds herself in an ominous situation as she receives threatening letters warning her to drop the Abigail Winslow story. Kingsley, an old flame who is now in Congress, re-enters her life and offers her sympathy and comfort.

But she receives no comfort from her neighbor, the psychic, who warns her that something evil will befall her in that house and that she must keep a vigil in the night -- a stillwatch.

STILLWATCH was directed by Rod Holcomb. It was adapted by Laird Koenig and David Peckinpah from the Mary Higgins Clark novel. Zev Braun and Lynda Carter are executive producers, Patricia Clifford is executive in charge of production and Terry Morse the producer. STILLWATCH, a Zev Braun Pictures, Inc./Potomac Productions, Inc. production in association with Interscope Communications, Inc., was filmed in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
