DESCRIPTION: "THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JOHNNY CARSON" was the full name of the show during the years that Johnny Carson hosted from 1962 to 1992. For all but a few months of its first ten years of existence, Carson's "Tonight Show" was based in New York, New York. In May 1972 the show moved to Burbank, California, where it remained for the rest of its run. This is Lynda's fifth appearance on "THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JOHNNY CARSON".

EPISODE SYNOPSIS: Bill Cosby's monologue is for the people at home, baseball, Phil Niekro, Bob Gibson, his son, and baseball players. RICHARD SIMMONS discuss his book 'Never Say Diet', passes some fruit around to members of the audience, weight loss, and then goes into the audience section to get volunteer cheerleaders and leads the audience along in 'Tonight Show Cheer' which is an aerobic dance routine. LYNDA CARTER sings "DANCIN' IN THE STREETS", and discusses about her special the night before, "HOTLINE", upcoming projects, how tough a performer's life can be, then goes back centerstage and sings a medley of old songs build around "COME RAIN OR COME SHINE / CAN'T HELP LOVING A MAN". ROBERT URICH: A clip is shown from his new (sixth) series GAVILAN, and discusses acting in an action series.
