DESCRIPTION: "THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW" was a long-running talk show, starring singer Merv Griffin. The series ran from 1962 to 1963 on NBC, 1965 to 1969 and again from 1972 to 1986 in first-run syndication, and on CBS from 1969 to 1972. A typical show would begin with a short introduction by Griffin, during which he would sometimes sing a song. Various celebrity guests would follow, conversing with Griffin.
