LYNDA CARTER'S hubby and manager RON SAMUELS is acutely aware of the impact a television series can have on a performer's career. RON also recognizes the fact that success on the tube can be a double-edged sword because audiences will begin to relate to the character the actor is portraying and forget about the person behind the part. SAMUELS is making certain that doesn't happen with LYNDA. In fact, LYNDA's elaborately staged Las Vegas performances are effective in letting CARTER separate herself from her hit series.

"To many people, LYNDA is 'Wonder Woman.' But what's helped her is the stage," says SAMUELS. "We only mentioned the 'Wonder Woman' character once and that was in a film clip interview. That's the way we got rid of it. From then on, it was LYNDA CARTER up there-entertaining. I'm not saying it was easy. It wasn't. You've got to be good. TELLY SAVALAS got up there and said, 'Hey, baby,' and people said, 'What is this? I'm paying $22 to hear hey, baby?' You can't fake it. When you're seen by 40 million people here and in 40 countries worldwide, people begin to know who you are. TRAVOLTA has led the way recently. He's got the magic. And there's no reason the same thing can't work for a woman."

Well, if "Wonder Woman" can't do it, who can?
