TRIVIA:
[•] Joyce Ohajah and Nazanine Moshiri present the regional news slot in the ITV News at 10.30. The programmes have a team of dedicated specialist correspondents: Ben Scotchbrook is London Life correspondent; Simon Harris is Political correspondent; Jonathan Wills is Sports correspondent and Tamzin Sylvester is the Entertainment correspondent.
[•] ITN focuses on making the programmes even more accessible and relevant to London viewers, with each of the specialist correspondents providing in-depth coverage of the main stories and events of interest to Londoners. They are joined by a team of reporters who will add further coverage of the main news stories of the day. The programmes will have a broad editorial agenda, reflecting the issues that effect Londoners lives and the diverse communities across London. The programme's new set is less formal in style to reflect the feel of the new service. It allows the presenters more flexibility to interview guests live on the programme, while retaining the familiar backdrop view of the Thames. The live picture is fed from a permanent fixed camera that films the Thames view.
[•] Editor of the London news service Stuart Thomas describes the programmes aims: "We want to provide an outstanding news service that reflects the lives and interests of people living in the capital. We want to examine all the issues that really matter to Londoners – whether it be the housing market, the price of cabs or what's going on in the world of sport and entertainment. We want to take a more questioning approach to what it's like living in the capital".
