DESCRIPTION:  CBS began providing its overnight news service about three months after NBC started with NBC News Overnight. "CBS NEWS NIGHTWATCH" was more ambitious offering four hours of coverage from 2:00 to 6:00 A.M., Sunday through Thursday nights. Originally it originated in New York and then it moved to Washington, D.C. in late 1983. In 1984 Charlie Rose became the host.

Lynda Carter is interviewed and talks about "SECRETS TO THE PERFECT MAKE-UP" and "STILLWATCH".

[•] The show was the network's first late night news broadcast.
[•] The broadcast of Charlie Rose's interview with Charles Manson won an Emmy Award in 1987. In 1990 Rose left CBS to serve as anchor of Personalities, a syndicated program produced by Fox Broadcasting Company, but he got out of his contract after six weeks because of the tabloid-style content of the show.
