The gold headband and bullet-repelling bracelets have been put in a box, and the red boots and red-and-white cape have been returned to wardrobe. Alas, Wonder Woman is no more.

CBS-TV has cancelled the series after a season of dwindling ratings, placing star Lynda Carter on an all-too-human unemployment line. Wonder Woman may have a brief network reprise next summer, however, when several recent episodes may be repeated. After that she will Join the likes of Star Trek, Logan's Run and The Man From Atlantis - syndicated reruns which are shown at odd "catch-It-if-youcan" hours.

As for Lynda, she will soon reappear on her own network special, singing and dancing. "I'm going to keep one of the costumes in moth balls," says the tall, stunningly beautiful incarnation of the first female comic book hero. "I'll put it on again when I'm worried about my figure. The costume shows exactly what's there; if you go two pounds over It starts to show at the seams. When I'm a grand-mother, I'll take it out and show the kids. For the time being, I guess, people in trouble will have to call on some other hero or heroine for help."
