You can have more beautiful hair by following the beauty secrets of glamour queens, whose hints include regular treatments with mayonnaise.

"I use a mayonnaise wrap once a month on my hair," declared dazzling Rosemary Forsyth, star of TV's "Days of Our Lives."

Miss Forsyth explained that she puts mayonnaise in her hair and then wraps a hot towel around her head. She re-moves the towel after 40 minutes and shampoos out the mayonnaise.

The mayonnaise treatment "makes my hair shiny, gives it luster and more body, and puts back natural oils," the actress said.

Gorgeous Jaclyn Smith, a member of the dynamite trio on "Charlie's Angels," also raves about the mayonnaise pack, which she describes as a natural conditioner.

Miss Smith's hair-care routine includes monthly treatments with steam, herbs and natural products.

"I also switch shampoos at times be-cause your hair will drain out what it can get from them," she said.

In addition to changing shampoos from week to week, Lynda Carter, who plays the title role in TV's "Wonder Woman" series also switches conditioners, and occasionally doesn't use them at all.

"If I don't switch, my hair starts to get matty and isn't as shiny," she said. Miss Car-ter also recommends drinking lots of water, to add shine to the hair.

Actress Sandy Duncan suggested: "Wash your hair nightly and use different shampoos."

Olympic skater Dorothy Hamill said she treats her hair "to very gentle handling, and that means no tugging at tangles or rubbing hair dry when it's wet. And I don't brush my hair all that often; because too much brushing can wear away the outer layer of the hair."

Miss Hamill said it's important to use a conditioner for dry hair. "I've found that using a conditioner helps keep damage down and makes my hair easier to comb."

Singer Toni Tennille, of "The Captain and Tennille" TV show, advises using a conditioner and cutting your hair ' regularly. "Don't let the ends get too long because they will split," she noted.

But the real key to beautiful hair, Miss Tennille stressed, is a "healthy, wholesome natural diet."
