Tell me Lynda, you look radiant of happiness. Is your recent marriage the cause?
- It is not the marriage, is the man that I married who blooms. Ron is a marvelous husband and our union feels right. Besides that, he’s very beautiful, and doesn't spoil anything.
I must confess you that she is right and having seen them together, I noticed that she’s not worng, Ron Samuels is a very handosme man with blue eyes and curly hair. They are one of the prettiest couples of the show business and these ten years that separate them don't harm in anything to their happiness. Ron is 35 years old, Lynda 25.
Lynda, was it luck to be chosen to play "Wonder Woman"?
- It was probably the fact of being 6 feet tall, she says laughing. I remember that in school, I was too much big to be in a team, too big to ask a boy out to dance, too big for here, too big for that, in short, too big to feel me at ease in the society. I was really complex and to encourage me, one told me: Don't worry, you have everything that it is necessary, you have the talent! Today, I wonder again if it is my talent or my stature that made me, the one that I am. I think for the first time that my stature have served for something. Did your complex vanish?
- Today, yes. Today it’s really less important and a friend told me: “Give it a break looking at you at the mirror and study. I took lessons of singing and music.”
A MEMORABLE BEAUTY CONTEST
- And how did you start? - I left my native city that is Phoenix in Arizona and I made some tours through U.S.A. with a rock band as a singer. A whole experience, because it is very exhausting and frustrating, a bus from a city to another, the recption was never the same. I sang fairly well, but you could not always like everyone.
You insisted? - It was necessary if I wanted to get one day to something. Between two tours, I came back to Phoenix, I inscribed in a beauty contest where I won the first prize, which was worth me a certain publicity and a trip to Hollywood.
What’s the luck then? - As I told you, what bother me at school. My height was it. They wanted a “Wonder Woman”, a super woman with 6-feet, and I was above the average. Such a heroine had to be big. I think they looked at my legs instead of my talent.
- The rest is history and the series was a huge success. While the superwoman was trying to save rge world in several episodes, the viewers had their eyes on her heavenly body… and the most beautiful eyes in the world. CBS picked up the series that youn singer became the eighth wonder of the world.
HAPPINESS WON'T WAIT ANOTHER And this consagration did surprise you?
In a way. You could be popular for a short time. My mail frightened me. I was afraid to think that alll this mail was for me. I turned to look if it was really addressed for me or someone else.
And you met Ron at the same time?
Yes, and happiness doesn’t wait. Funny enough, when I met Ron he was the manager of Lindsay Wagner, The Bionic Woman. He directed the “bionic” but marrie dthe “wonder”.
Did the fact that he was divorced frightened you? Why?
For me it was the first marriage and that counts. I never thought not even for a moment that he could have another woman in his life. Maybe there were ten women before me. That wouldn’t change a thing. We like each other , and as for me, it is the first time.
If you wouldn’t be picked up for the Wonder Woman role what would you make?
- I don't know. I would probably did singing in a more personal style, more glamourous. Maybe a model because I did it. I don’t know, I would have made something of my life.
Do you intend to make something else, to go further? Now that y career is moving, I have the impression that I will always be in the race. I don’t know what waits for me tomorrow, I don't want to know, I’m very happy today.
She rises and I contemplate her. It is true that she is very big and I feel small by her sides. She is beautiful, she had a brilliant career before her and an adorable husband who waits for her. Who could ask for more? I only wish them some children to her her couple last longer. I was leaving but before I had to ask her. And today, Lynda, are seriously happy being that big?
Yes, probably because my happines is "so big" also...
