Lynda Carter, who stars as the amazing Amazon queen in "The New Adventures of Wonder Woman", on NBC, is the holder of the Miss World U.S.A. title for 1973 and has been called by many 'the most beautiful woman in the world'. After touring for three years as a vocalist, Lynda paused between engagements in her home town of Phoenix and, just to pass the time, she entered her first beauty competition in Phoenix's participation in the international Miss World Contest, In one short month, she won the city pageant, the subsequent Miss Arizona contest and finally the Miss World U.S.A. She was then sent to London where she placed in the finals and was justifiably dubbed one of the most beautiful girls in the world. Lynda is 5'8" in her stocking feet and weighs a svelte 126 pounds. She has all the instincts of a natural athlete and is superbly co-ordinated having studied with the London School of Ballet for ten years. The youngest of three children, she was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Following her beauty triumph in 1973, Lynda moved to Los Angeles to study acting with Lieux Dessler and later with Charles Conrad.
