Breaking
news from Hollywood started a great polemic. We talk about the
announcement that Lynda Carter, the beautiful star of Wonder Woman
will play Rita hayworth on a miniseries. There's no doubt that the
idea is interesting but as we said the nostalgic ones have started
a polemic saying that "Lynda can't show Rita's sex appeal and she
would only be a shadow of the star that became a legend". Lynda
confronted them saying: "I have a huge respect for the career and
personality of Rita Hayworth, and I know I will come closer to the
character. I have seen all of Rita's movies and specially those
with dance sequences. I have also read everything they have
written about her. And they made test on make-up and hairdos
trying to make them similar to her. I'm perfectioning myself in
dances of the time and chacracteristics of Rita. |

What most poeple doen't know is that since I was a child I studied
music, singing and dancing, and my career started in a club when I
was 16. Then when I was 19 in 1973, I became Miss Phoenix, in my
natal town, then Miss Ariozna, Miss World-USA and a runner-up in
"Miss World" in London 1974. And though it may sound vain, as a
beauty I'm at the same level of Rita, and I assure you that I can
dance and sing as well as her." |

Many think that Lynda will make it. In fact she has always been
married to success. She made it as a beauty queen, as a model and
as an actress. In 1975 sjhe bagan with "Wonder Woman" and such was
the success that CBS paid her a million Us dollars for switching
network. What is different about Rita is her love life. While Rita
has made the record when it comes to marriages and romances, Lynda
who becamae 27 on July 24, has a very happy conjugal experience.
She married on may 1977 with manager Ron Samuels and they have
been on "honeymoon" for five years now, she says. Once she
finished shooting Wonder Woman, Lynda committed to personal
appearance as a singer in Las Vegas, and other great venues around
the world of show business. She also made films like "The Last
Song". but this is teh past... now everybody is waiting for her
interpretation of Rita. |
