Raymond Dashiell Caulfield, a private detective, has been murdered-and has left an unusual will. He's bequeathed his San Francisco agency and his Victorian mansion to his two exwives, Carole Stanwyck (Lynda Carter) and Sydney Kovak (Loni Anderson). Carole is a free-lance photographer. Successful? Let's just say she does a lot of weddings and bar mitzvahs. Sydney, who plays bass fiddle, is an aspiring concert musician. Successful? You guessed it: weddings and bar mitzvahs. These women have a lot in common. Now they also have a detective agency-and that Victorian house. It needs a little work: the lights keep blowing, the steps give way, the windows stick and the doorknobs fall off. The first thing Carole and Sydney have to do is solve Ray's murder: that's a job for these two partners in crime. Fixing up the house-that's a job for Better Homes and Gardens. NBC.
