Once Being Named The Most Beautiful Woman In The World By The International Academy Of Beauty... Lynda Carter Is Still One Of The Most Beautiful Women In The World. How Does This Wonder Woman Keep Herself Looking Great? Read On ...

LYNDA'S HAIR CARE & STYLE STORY!

Lynda wears her shoulder-length hair in an A-line cut, which was chosen because of flexibility ... a necessity to fit changing costumes and characters in her shows. Her hair is done daily by a professional stylist when working and believes that this particular cut keeps her hair in excellent condition.

The 5`8" beauty believes that, "When a woman likes and respects herself, she will be motivated to look her very best." And as a result of this belief, Lynda does take excellent care of not only her hair, but her body and makeup. Ms. Carter conditions her hair weekly and uses henna to add body to her very fine hair. When at home, electric rollers and decorative combs help in styling her hair. For tennis, she sports a ponytail... and

afterwards it can be taken up in a French Twist. Lynda also changes shampoos as often as every week and changes conditioners also. "if I don't switch," explains Ms. Carter, "my hair starts to get matty and isn't as shiny. I think drinking lots of water adds shine to the hair too."

LYNDA ON LYNDA

Everyone knows by now that Lynda has been 'Born -Again.' How did this come about? "Nothing seemed to be going right," Ms. Carter explains. "I was very unhappy with my career and my personal life. Then I gave myself to Jesus Christ and I've gotten everything I asked for. In terms of growth, I owe everything to Him."

How does she feel about success and what are the restrictions? "It's tough to go anywhere now," Lynda says of her celebrity status. "Just the other day I was in the grocery store and I was surrounded by kids as if it was an announced public appearance!"

How does Ms. Carter feel about her first experiences in Hollywood? "This was the most painful thing I had to learn," Lynda explains of the supposed friendships of Hollywood people. "Everyone is so nice when they couldn't care less. I didn't understand that. I wasn't raised that way."

SKIN CARE: Lynda uses a mild cleanser, freshner and alight moisturizer on her sensational-looking skin. In the out-of-doors, Ms. Carter finds it necessary to protect her face with a sunscreen whenever possible.

EYE MAKEUP: To play up the drama of the eyes, Lynda uses a variation of light and dark shades. Peach lustre shading is used to bring out the area from lashline to crease. Smokey Taupe shadow is used to contour her eyes in and above the creases. Beneath the browbone white shadow is used to highlight and black eyeliner is smudged on beneath lower lashes and around upper lashes for a subtle effect. Black mascara completes the total look.

FACE MAKEUP: First to define shape, Lynda uses a brown shade on either side of her nose. Then to warm up her olive complexion she applies a rose-beige foundation. Tawny blush contours the temple area and hollows of her cheeks; while a coral shade accents her cheekbones.

LIPCOLOR: To add depth and a bit of sensuous appeal to her mouth, Lynda first outlines and then uses a darker shade on the outside of lips from corner to just under the nostril. The last step is filling in. Lynda begins by applying a lighter color in the center of her lips and then uses a glistening copper shade to fill out.

Although all this might sound like Ms. Carter always feels the need to wear makeup, she is however, quite the contrary: "I don't usually wear any makeup at home. I spend so many hours a day getting poked and prodded by makeup people on the set that I prefer to do my own egg facials when I can!"

LYNDA'S FITNESS SECRETS

EXERCISES: "I didn't have many dates in high school," Lynda confesses. "Boys didn't think of me as glamorous. No wonder ... when I was 14, I grew two and a half inches and gained 25 pounds within three months," which is probably why the now slender 122 pound beauty keeps her weight down.

"When I was small, people said I was pretty. Then I went through a stage in grade school that was terrible. I was tall, lanky and wore size ten shoes. The other children called me Olive Oyl because I looked like Popeye's girlfriend. After that, I did what they used to call 'develop.' I had a woman's body."

Now Ms. Carter does exercises regularly in her gym at home. She swims and rides a bicycle also as her exercise/sports conditioning. Isometric exercises are a part of every day for Lynda.

"I do every kind of physical exercises you can think of," explains Lynda. "I run a mile and a half a day. I work with light weights. I do 250 leg lifts in the morning with my husband Ron. I ride a stationary bike and do stretches. I play tennis. If I happen to be on location where there's an Olympic sized pool available, I can do five hundred laps!"

Ms. Carter feels that the half of any exercise is concentration. For instance, when she jogs she primarily concentrates on flexing her muscles instead of "simply going through the motions." Exercise has changed her state of mind. And, according to Lynda, "when your body feels good, your mind feels good and your spirit feels good."

DIET: Part Mexican, Lynda grew up with a love of and an ability to cook Mexican food. "I don't think grandmother's cooking was the major factor in my weight gain, although Mexican food is something I have to be cautious of now. My mother never had to beg me to eat vegetables because I've always liked them. I'm sort of vegetarian. I've never liked most fried things, and I'd rather eat a raw potato than a creamed one!"

Even though she has slimmed down today, she does feel she is still vulnerable. "For example," Lynda explains, "I could sit in front of the television set and eat a bowl of potato chips. Greek olives could become another obsession. When you feel like you'll just die without a candy bar, I've discovered that it's a good idea to wait as long as you can and get busy with something else."

Ms. Carter doesn't drink alcohol, but might on occasion indulge in a low-cal beer. And to keep off the extra 25 pounds she gained at one point, Lynda simply ate less and cut out all the unnecessary foods, like desserts. Plus with her hectic schedule she has found that now she eats less when kept busy.
