ECKERD DRUGS' BEAUTY HANDBOOK Arresting beauty notwithstanding. Lynda carter's rise to TV stardom has not been overnight. In fact she claims to have been preparing for it all her life. Having made her television debut at the ripe old age of 4, Lynda began priming herself on the spotlight. At first it was on a small scale --- performing in front, of be family then singing at a restaurant in Scottsdale. Arizona; debuting (when it in Las Vegas at the Sahara; on to headlining (10 years later) at Caesar's, Palace while simultaneously starring in a television series.
In spite of all this musical background, Lynda Carter is best known -for her portrayal of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the CBS series "THE NEW ADVENTURES OF W0NDER WOMAN." Oddly enough, many people were unaware that she was an accomplished singer until she returned to Las Vegas and released her album "Portraits."
Born on July 24 in Phoenix,  Lynda Carter it’s the youngest of three children. She learned early to pursue her interest in the performing arts. Consequently, she was voted The Most Talented Student at Arcadia High School. Since the age of 15
Lynda has been writing songs and singing professionally, After three years of touring with a rock 'n roll band, Lynda decided to cut a demo, for a record company.
While waiting for word on the deal, someone suggested that Lynda enter a beauty contest. And so she did. In a matter of one month, Lynda had secured the Miss Phoenix, Miss Arizona and Miss USA titles. As Miss World-USA 1973, she went on to London to become a finalist in the international pageant.
With this behind her, Lynda headed for Hollywood where she found success and love.
Chosen over 2,000 aspirants, Lynda Carter took on the role of WONDER WOMAN. Her day begins at 6:30 a.m., when she is chauffeured to the studio. From that moment, her schedule is nonstop -makeup, wardrobe, rehearsal and shooting until she finally leaves for home in the evening.
Her home is a fabulous French country house atop L.A.'s Benedict Canyon. There she lives with her husband/manager Ron Samuels. The happy couple met several years ago when Ron, visiting a friend, wandered on, to the WONDER WOMAN set. They went to lunch and knew, “immediately" that they  were meant for each other. In May 1977, they were married amidst Mariachis, Mexican food and Ron's clients.
Ron's other clients include Jaclyn Smith and Lindsay Wagner.   The adage "behind every successful man, there is a woman," is reversed when it comes to Ron Samuels. He guides the careers of some of the most successful (and beautiful) actresses in Hollywood. In Lynda's case, he not only steered her professional life in the right direction, he added a new dimension to her personal life.
Articulate, beautiful and talented, Lynda does not rest on her laurels. She works hard. Although no longer allowed to do her own stunts. Lynda stays in shape with gymnastics. She loves to work out on the trampoline. "The physical activity on WONDER WOMAN requires agility, so I limber up on the trampoline. It uses every muscle and builds a body rhythm," says Lynda.
As an adolescent, Lynda felt uncomfortable about being so tall (she's 5' 8") and had moments wishing she was short and blonde. Yet, she has been acclaimed the World's Most Beautiful Woman by the London International Academy of Beauty. Her poster was also a million-seller last year.
Lynda feels that beauty is intimately linked with confidence. "When a woman likes and respects herself she will be motivated to took her very best,” she states.
Lynda's beauty is classic, her complexion flawless and her blue eyes mesmerizing. However, she follows a beauty routine faithfully.
Skin Care: Re uses a mild cleanser freshener and a light moisturizer. Careful not to get too much sun. Lynda protects her skin with a sunscreen whenever outside.
Makeup: A routed brown shader is used on either side of the nose to define shape. Lynda then warms her olive complexion with a rose beige foundation. A tawny blush contours the temple area and hollows of the check while a coral shade accents the cheekbone. Lynda adds depth to her mouth by (1) outlining; (2) using a darker shade on the outside of lips (from corner to just under nostril); and filling in the center with a lighter color she prefers glistening coppershades.
A variation of dark and light shades enhance Lynda's eyes, (1) At peach lustre shade brings out the area from lashline to crease: (2) A smoky taupe shadow is used to contour eye - in and above "ease; (3) an ivory shade hightlights area just beneath brow. Lynda uses black eyeliner which she smudges for a subtler effect. The finishing touch is black mascara.
A light dusting of translucent powder and the picture is complete.
