Recently a national magazine asked a group of third-grade students what three things would 'make them happiest. Their answers were "peace all over the world," "that everyone in America would have a job,". and "that Christopher Reeve, Superman, would marry Lynda Carter, Wonder Woman." Handsome Chris Reeve and lovely Lynda Carter would make a most attractive couple, but there is - only one thing wrong with the students' suggestion: Lynda Carter is already a happily married woman. Her husband is Ron Samuels, who is also her business manager and the guiding light behind her successful career. Recently Ron negotiated a lucrative contract with CBS for his wife, which pays her $1 million for filming twenty-six episodes of Wonder Woman. Even Superman could hardly do better than that.

The beautiful Lynda Carter was born in Phoenix, Arizona; the youngest of three children. Always gifted. as well as pretty, Lynda was voted the "most talented student in school" by her Arcadia High School classmates. "She was a fine artist, a fabulous singer, and a wonderful actress," a childhood friend remembers. In addition, Lynda was also very bright. She managed to receive one of the highest averages in her" graduating class for her academic abilities.

When Lynda graduated, she attended Arizona State University where she proved as excellent and versatile a student as she had been in high school.

While in college, Lynda sang at various school dances and when she graduated, she went on tour with a rock group for four years. The group was called "The Garfin Gathering." Lynda had been writing music and singing semiprofessionally in her home state since she was fifteen, so it was a natural progression for her to continue her singing career after college.

During some time off from her singing tours, Lynda decided to enter the local Miss World contest in Phoenix. She won the competition and went on to win the title of Miss Arizona. In 1973, Lynda won the Miss World-USA title and was a -finalist in the international competitions which were held in London. As part of her prize winnings, Lynda was awarded--enough money to study acting. She registered with drama coaches Stella Adler and Charles Conrad.

Winning the role of Wonder Woman on the TV series was a relatively simple, matter for Lynda. The minute she walked into the producer's office when the search for the perfect actress: to play Wonder Woman was underway, Lynda was signed for the role. Her tall stature, lovely face, and athletic body made her a natural choice for the part. When Wonder Woman was canceled after its first season, fans demanded that the show be brought back and CBS obliged.

Not content to rest on her Wonder Woman laurels, Lynda has recently recorded her first solo album which is called "Portraits." Some of the songs on the album were written by Lynda, and Epic Records, the company that produced the album, is excited about its sales. Lynda, who lives with her husband in Beverly Hills, California, insures she has a whole second career as a singer ahead of her. When people see Lynda's fantastic figure they often ask her what she does to maintain such a perfect body.

She always says that she doesn't believe in any trick or crash diets to maintain her physical proportions. She simply eats less and exercises ,a lot. "Exercise," Lynda  Carter says, "is the key to my success. It's better to . leave the table a- bit hungry," Lynda adds with a smile, "and then get up and jog around the block." Let's hope Lynda Carter never leaves her fans hungry for  more of her.
