"Formicida""Formicida""Formicida""Formicida""Formicida""Formicida""Formicida""Formicida"

Steve Trevor (LYLE WAGGONER) and Diana Prince (LYNDA CARTER) must investigate a peculiar series of building collapses. Oddly, all of the demolished buildings are owned by GDH Enterprises, Gideon D. Harcourt (ROBERT ALDA), president, owner, and according to their file, "Industrial Giand."

Their first speculation that the buildings have been sabotaged by the corporation is dismissed after learning that Harcourt himself is enraged and bewildered by the attacks on his property.

Even more interesting is the phone call Harcourt receives from a mysterious lady. In the course of their conversation the woman, who introduces herself cryptically as Formicida (LORENE YARNELL), threatens to destroy more of his property unless he shuts down one of his plants and halts production on a deadly pesticide -EF-11, and destroy the EF-11 formula.

Harcourt steps up security measures at the plant while Diana and Steve continue to search for clues. Diana receives a call from Dr. Doug Radcliffe (ROBERT SHIELDS), she met earlier in the year. He sounds troubled and arranges to meet her at a warehouse that evening.

Meanwhile, Formicida has learned that Doug is meeting Diana and she intends to be there as well.

Diana arrives at the warehouse, but hearing-that Doug is in trouble with two of Formicida's heavies, she whirls into Wonder Woman before entering. She tries to break up the fight, but Formicida persists. Formicida distracts Wonder Woman long enough to allow her boys to load Radcliffe into a car and drive off.

Dr. Irene Janus (LORENE YARNELL), berates Doug for selling his pesticide formula too early, despite the fact that he knew it would turn into a deadly toxin after contact with the air.

Now, Diana, at the IADC headquarters, checks out Doug Radcliffe with IRAC, the computer. Steve looks on with her. Suddenly, IRAC flashes the connection they are looking for -Doug Radcliffe sold a pesticide formula to GDH. With Radcliffe now kidnapped by Formicida, Diana surmises that whoever kidnapped Radcliffe probably is the same person who is harassing Harcourt. But the only clues she has are a test tube filled with ants and the fact that Formicida is a very strong woman.

One of Formicida's men visits Harcourt's office. Suspecting that he is carrying a package that Harcourt is expecting, the man is admitted to the executives office where he deposits his parcel and leaves.

Diana does not receive quite the same courtesy when she seeks admission, she is rebuked and held by an armed guard, as the security people, receptionists and Harcourt himself believe that she is the mysterious woman responsible for the building demolitions.

Just as Harcourt harangues Diana for her ecological terrorism of which he believes she is guilty, a terrible crunching sound is heard from his office. They dash inside to find it's contents -all collectors item antiques -destroyed. Diana points out the ants milling in the sawdust.

Back at the IADC, IRAC has linked Dr. Irene Janus with Dr. Radcliffe. She is a well-known entymologist with a special interest in ants and more importantly, she is the woman Diana remembers as the Radcliffe kidnapper. What she doesn't realize immediately, but soon will, is that Formicida and Dr. Janus are one in the same.

When they investigate more extensively, they find out she is not a scientist gone mad but a concerned citizen of the world. Diana learns that the pesticide formula was sold too soon and that Janus is simply trying to halt the marketing of the poison before it enters the food chain, eventually poisoning millions of innocent victims.

Harcourt's own scientists have made this discovery themselves, but Harcourt will not stop the distribution. Instead, he wants the test reports changed to demonstrate that the product is absolutely safe.

The stage is now set for the confrontation as Formicida plans to have the ants that she has learned to control destroy Harcourt's plant. Diana, trying to save property, brings along IRAC's rover, which is programmed and capable of communicating with the ants.

Formicida plants hundreds of ants at the plant and, on command, orders them to destroy the building. The plant shakes as the creatures devour the structure. Harcourt refuses to evacuate the plant, but Wonder Woman intervenes and he reluctantly obeys. Meanwhile Formicida is in the now evacuated control room, neutralizing the already produced pesticide. Her potion is wearing off and her strength, ten times that of her own body weight -just like ants -is wearing off. Fortunately, Wonder Woman races to the production area where she untams the levers and switches, neutralizing the chemicals and preventing it from ever being released into the atmosphere.

The ants are still crunching around them, devouring the structure voraciously. Wonder Woman activates the rovers voice mechanism and suddenly, the plant goes ghastly silent -the little rover has "called them off." Diana now smiles in victory, "he always had a way with words!".
