"I would do a lot of crazy things during rehearsals just to keep my sanity. One day, I did a whole entire scene with my tooth blacked out. I knew it was a serious scene, and I wouldn't be smiling, so they wouldn't see my tooth. I did the entire dialogue, in a close-up. At the end of the scene, right before they said "Cut," I flashed a big smile at the camera. They edited it out, of course."
