solve: a dolphin named Bluebird - which spent four
years as an "agent" for the government - has gone
missing. Initially everyone believes that Bluebird
was lost at sea, but then it arrived in Los Angeles
from the Caribbean, arriving just two weeks after it
had vanished. The time span, Diana realizes, is too
short, indicating that someone must hove kidnapped
the dolphin. As Wonder Woman, Diana uncovers the
truth behind Bluebird's disappearance: real estate
magnate Silas Lockhart is planning on strapping
explosives to Bluebird's back, then sending him out
to sea to detonate a tanker carrying 500,000 tons of
crude oil. The resulting spill, Lockhart reasons,
will allow him to snap up nearby real estate he
feels is vital to his empire. "STOLEN FACES" Air
Date: December 15, 1978. "Stolen faces" begins with
a child being rescued from a crumbling building by
someone who appears to be Wonder Woman, but the
supposed super heroine is rendered unconscious and
rushed to the hospital. Diana visits her there and
is stunned to see the physical similarity between
this woman and Diana's alter-ego. Digging further,
she learns that fashion designer Edgar Percy has
developed a means of creating incredibly realistic
looking life masks that "transforms" the wearer into
whoever they are supposed to be. Percy's plan is to
use doubles of Wonder Woman, Steve Trevor and agents
from IADC to rob the rich and famous that are
scheduled to attend his next fashion event. *** The
plotline for 'Deadly Dolphin" apparently serves as
an homage to Mike Nichols' feature film, Day of the
Dolphin, which starred George C. Scott In that film,
super intelligent dolphins -who have acquired the
ability to speak a few words - are being used in an
assassination attempt.". |
