come up with the means of giving rubber the strength
and durability of steel in 'Formula 407.'
Unfortunately, the Nazis have received similar

to this prize. THE BUSHWACKERS Air Date:
January 29, 1977. 'The Bushwackers' has Steve Trevor
investigating the black market rustling of J.P.
Hadley's (Roy Rogers) cattle, one of the largest
suppliers of beef to the military. What he - and
ultimately Wonder Woman - learns is that there are
far more deadly plans afoot in Texas. In his 1942
interview with Family Circle magazine, Wonder Woman
creator Dr. William Moulton Marston spent a great
deal of time discussing the reasons behind Wonder
Woman's popularity and background on the character.
One of the things he mentioned was the symbolism of
the character's bracelets, which made up an
important element of the television series:
sequences involving 'bullets and bracelets.' In his
comments, Dr. Marston reveals that, in many ways, he
was ahead of his time in his view of women having
the equality of men. 'Wonder Woman and her sister
Amazons have to wear heavy bracelets to remind them
of what happens to a girl when she lets a man
conquer her,' he explained. 'The Amazons once
surrendered to the charm of some handsome Greeks and
what a mess they got themselves into. The Greeks put
them in chains of the Hitler type, beat them, and
made them work like horses in the fields. Aphrodite,
goddess of love, finally freed these unhappy girls.
But she laid down the rule that they must never
surrender to a man for any reason. I know of no
better advice to give modern women than this rule
that Aphrodite gave the Amazon girls.' Hey, bet you
never read THAT in TV Guide. " |
