LYNDA CARTER'S UK TOUR PROGRAMME TEXT TRANSCRIPTIONS

Lynda Carter's beauty is the first thing one notices. Her eyes are soft with a light of grace that obviously comes from deep within, proving that beauty is more than skin deep. She is statuesque, 5 feet 8 1/2 inches, and moves with the easy confidence of an athlete or dancer. She obviously holds a deep respect for her body and stays in shape because it is her machine, her business.
She is one of the ten most admired women in the world, according to a Gallup Poll. In a town where "pretty girls are a dime a dozen", Lynda has a quality that is inestimable.
She burst on to the television screens of America this year as the triple threat talent of the '80s in her CBS showcase, 'Lynda Carter's Special'. In it, she sang, danced and performed to the hilt. About all of the people she worked with on it she says, "I wanted to call the special 'We Did It' because that is what happened. It is amazing when a bunch of people come together to work, start with an idea that then becomes a reality."
Recently Lynda has begun to perform live. Her act at Caesars Palace was a lavish spectacle with her at the centre. She'd performed in Vegas before, but as a minor act. "I was 17 at the time and asked to enter through the kitchen." For her big gig in Vegas, she had to enter through the kitchen again but this time to avoid the crowds out front. This irony is not lost on her; she tells the anecdote often.
Lynda Carter also writes music in collaboration with such songwriters as Candi Siller, Don Dunn, and Art Munson. One of her own songs is 'Fantasy Man' which she recorded. Another is 'Toto', which she wrote with Bill Cuomo. It is, as she says, a song about the 'Wizard of Oz' part of all of us and is indicative of her feelings about life at the top.

When asked about the songs she chooses to sing, she says that they are selected for what they say more than what they sound like. "I speak the songs before I sing them. Singing is really conversion with a different emphasis on the syllables. On the other hand I choose a song like 'Rubber Band Man' because it just makes me laugh, it makes me feel good. Just my attitude makes that song for me. The words don't mean a thing, but it makes me happy."
Lynda has a rich sounding voice and is possessed with an impressive range that allows her to do almost everything she wishes. Her dancing is enhanced by her perfectly proportioned frame and inbred poise.
Lynda is married to Ron Samuels. After a first meeting at a Hollywood party, sparks did not fly between them. Some time later, Ron appeared on the 'Wonder Woman' set and it was love at second sight. They went to lunch, and she has been with him ever since. They plan her career together, and it is obvious that he is a partner in -whom she has great trust. A charming gentleman with curly brown hair, he shares the same easy calmness that she possesses. They do not believe in flooding the market, but work from a standpoint of justifiable public relations merited when she is working. They share a large home in Beverly Hills and both jog and play tennis for relaxation.
Her great love is her work. She is never happier than when she is performing. She and Ron have spent a long time determining the approach of her career. "The approach that we took in the special, and the approach that we have taken in all of the new projects has been an honest approach. Not for the sake of being now, or different, or gimmicky, but to be honest as far as what I'm seeing, to see new dimensions. My whole creative person is
