 She's the daughter
of a meat-packer. When she was 6 years old her family moved from native
Cleveland to sunny California. After she finished the High School, she
moved to Israel for a post-high school course and stayed there for a
year during which she also served three months in the Israeli Army. Then
she moved back to California decided to pursue a serious acting career.
In 1973, during a performance in an amusement park she suffered an
accident that left her in a comma. She made her debut on the
"Wonder Woman" series and in 1978 she made a commercial for
Cheer detergent. In 1982 she was nominated for best actress for her
performance in "An Officer and a Gentleman",
and once again in 1983 for "Terms of Endearment". In
1998 she played Li'l Bit in the play "How I Learned to Drive"
in the American Repertory Theatre of Cambridge.
