Superwomen
they may be, but that doesn't necessarily mean the ratings on their
respective shows are super. For Lynda Carter, "Wonder Woman", there's no
question about her being back on the air this fall. Her show is a
definite yes in the ratings, and Lynda herself, a definite yes with the
fans. She was recently voted the most beautiful woman in the world by
the International Academy of Beauty, and they ought to know. Her
husband, agent and manager, Ron Samuels, is the first to agree with
their choice. Lynda won the Miss World-USA crown in 1973, after several
local beauty contest wins in her home state of Texas. She studied acting
for a while; and won the role of "Wonder Woman" without too much
trouble. She met and married Ron while she was first working on the
series, and he's her biggest and most vocal supporter. He's the driving
force behind her summer appearance in Las Vegas' Caesar's Palace, and
her soon-to-be released record album. As for being the most friends say
her career has made their life miserable. So far, like with Angie and
Burt, there are no divorce plans, and no specific plans for Lindsay if
"Bionic Woman" is cancelled. For these two super beauties, anyway, life
is not always as beautiful as it seems on TV. beautiful woman in the
world, Lynda says, "I suppose it's better to be born beautiful. Idon't
know, I have no basis for comparison." |
Angie Dickinson is a different kind of beauty,
the classy blonde type. It's certainly helped her career, she's the
first to admit, but her acting ability is far more important. She's
turned in her badge as "Police Woman"-four years in the series was
enough: for her. And unless NBC comes up with something spectacular;
this Sgt. Pepper will concentrate on films. As to her marriage to Burt
Bacharach, Angie honestly says, "I don't know. If we ever get together
again it will be after the series ends." Marital problems are in Lindsay
Wagner's life, too. Her show is out and so's her life with husband
Michael Brandon. They've only been married a short time. |
