LYNDA CARTER and LYLE WAGGONER star in THE NEW ADVENTURES OF WONDER WOMAN premiering in a 90-minute special on September 15 on CTV at &30 p.m. When a plane full of top secret scientists is brought down on Paradise Island and threatens to reveal the existence of the ancient Amazon culture; Wonder, Woman is once again called upon to leave her island home and join in the global fight for freedom.

     Her exploits during World War II helped make the world a safe place. Lynda Carter, as the legendary ageless heroine, returns to 1977 and assumes the identity of Diana Prince, assistant to Steve Trevor, Jr., at the Inter-Agency Defense Command.

     Ona top-secret mission with scientists who will develop a nuclear power plant for underdeveloped countries, Steve Trevor's flight is sabotaged by an international terrorist leader, Dr. Solano (Fritz Weaver) and is brought down on Paradise Island. Wonder Woman discovers the plane and its occupants, among them Steve Trevor, Jr., whose likeness to his father recalls her fond association with the major.

     Learning of the terrorist conspiracy which threatens this and -other sensitive international projects, Wonder convinces her mother, the Queen of the Amazon, that she must once again go into the outside world. She must not only help protect the free world from all its enemies, but in this age of radar; sonar and laser scanning, she must protect the secret of Paradise Island and its ancient culture.

     Beatrice Straight; who won an Oscar for her performance in NETWORK and who starred in BEACON HILL, guest stars as Wonder Woman's mother. FRITZ WEAVER guests as Dr. Solano, head of an international terrorist organization and Jessica Walter guest stars as his aide, Gloria. NORMANN BURTON plays Gerald Atkinson, who supervises Steve Trevor and Diana Prince at the' inter-Agency Defense Command,
