This season in the American TV the biggest successes are by the hand of beautiful and adventurous women. The trend of women as lead in a series started last year with Angie Dickinson in "Police Woman." Then came Lindsay Wagner, the delightful "Bionic Woman" and, considering the trend, famous producers Spelling and Goldberg gathered three beauties in "Charlie's Angels."  That's Farrah Fawcett Majors, Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith, playing the roles of three beautiful detectives, which were already introduced to the Argentinean audience. Now for the 1976-77 season, producer Douglas S. Cramer associated with Warner Bros wanted to create for ABC "something" bigger and got thr rights of "Wonder Woman," a comic strip made famous by Charles Moulton and publsihed in hundreds of publications around the world. The comic tells the adventures of this "Wonder Woman," who has exceptional powers and thar runs during the Second Worl War.

The main problem for Cramer was to cast a woman as much beatiful and actress to make the character believable. And after a long search he found her. "Wonder Woman" is Lynda Carter, who's been known to the world until now only for her beauty, since she was "Miss World U.S.A." 1973 and a finalist in London for the election of "Miss Universe." Lynda was doing a screen test for a TV movie when Cramer saw her and he said: "I should look no further. This is Wonder Woman." So Lynda found herself a chance in a fairy tale. First there was a pilot and now they're shooting several episodes for a mini series and according to the success of this episodes it sure will continue thru teh next season.

Lynda was born on July 24 in Phoenix. At the University she was elected "the most complete student" and they were not talking about her shape only... Lynda studied classical dances, sang and piano for ten years, and she was making a career as a vocalist when they invited her to particpate in the "Miss Phoenix" contest. She won and and soon she became "Miss Arizona," and then "Miss World U.S.A." All this within a few weeks. Then she moved to Los Angeles and began taking acting classes with Lieux Dressler and Charles Conrad. But before being chosen for "Wonder Woman" she only had small roles and cameos. Now she has reached fame and she's determined to show that she has talent and not only beauty. In 1977 she will prove thru the Argentineans TV sets with "Wonder Woman."
