What Happens When TV's Superwomen Want The Same Man? Why There's A Bionic BOOM And A Lasso Of Lightning From Paradise Island - And Suddenly You've Got A "Bionic" Triangle!
Lindsay Wagner is a beautiful blonde whose break in show business came when a TV scout saw her perform in a famous Tennesee Williams' play called This Property Is Condemned. A small part in Marcus Welby, M.D. and The Bionic Woman came right after that! Not bad for a leggy beauty who wanted to be a dancer and then a rock singer!
Lynda Carter is a statuesque raven-haired lovely who was a "Miss World - U.S.A." After holding her title for the year, she went to Los Angeles and began taking acting lessons. That's when she met a Warner Brothers representative who thought she'd make a terrific super-lady named "Wonder Woman!" And before you could say "zap, pow, crash" Lynda Carter got the role of the legendary comic strip heroine!

At the time, both programs were being run on ABC-TV and Lindsay and Lynda were introduced during the normal course of activities for the network. They liked each other immediately! They had a great deal in common, since they were both new to the L.A. scene. So business and mutual interests brought the two lovelies closer together.

Then Lynda met a man. A tall, light brown-haired man who was intelligent, clever, had good business sense, and was extremely handsome. She told Lindsay all about him because he offered to manage her career and be her guide. Lindsay mentioned that she also knew a terrific light-brown haired fella who was a great manager-and she was considering using him. Lynda's find was manager Ron Samuels. Lindsay's find was also Ron Samuels! Who was going to get the most clever - and good looking - manager in town on her side? Only time would tell!

Lynda wanted Ron as her manager and Lindsay wanted him too! So here were two rising young starlets, both playing similar type roles - that of superheroines - and both needing careful career planning. They were, in fact, competing for the same group of TV watchers and each needed Ron. Know who won `the battle of the manager" - they both did! Ron Samuels became manager of both women and guided each career in as individual and personalized way as possible.

But Lynda got a little more than she bargained for! She found herself failing in love with Ron! Oh, of course, both women adored Ron, but Lynda's feelings were changing ever so slightly each time she was with him! At first Lindsay thought Ron might be favoring Lynda on a professional basis and this concerned her a great deal. But when Lynda came up to her one day and said, "Ron and I are going to be married!", Lindsay knew immediately that she had been wrong to doubt Ron for a second. Besides, when it came to personal matters, such as Lindsay's romantic life, she had already met her husband-to-be, actor Michael Brandon! So Lindsay and Lynda buried their doubts and became best of friends.

They started hanging out together, vacationing together, and sharing assorted show-biz experiences. When in the midst of a busy work schedule, Ron and Lynda decided to marry and go off to Hawaii for a week, Lindsay was the first to give the newlyweds a gift. It was a framed, gold-plated spoon - and if that sounds like a strange wedding gift, the story behind it is far stranger!

When the ladies rented a cabin for a short vacation, they traveled all the way to the hills only to find that the place had no working plumbing or facilities (that's a nice way of saying bathroom). So when nature called, they were forced to use the wild and woolly outdoors! A spoon was used for the necessary "cover-up" - believe it or not! So to remind her friend for a long time to come about that cozy stay in the broken down cabin, Lindsay gave her this special little spoon!

What's the end of the "Bionic" clash? Well, it goes like this. Lynda got Ron as husband and manager. Lindsay got Ron as manager and Michael Brandon as her husband. And Ron got a new client - Jaclyn Smith, the beautiful super-sleuth on Charlie's Angels! How will the story end?-- happily, no doubt!!
